Hey Jeff,

Your exposure time on that picture says, "3 seconds."

What in the world? Were you tripod-ing it?
Well... I did have my tripod with me, and it does let you reverse the center column (which means that you can hang the camera upside down, to get close to the ground), but in this case, it was just a matter of putting the camera on the ground, holding it really steady, and using the 2-second delay to avoid shaking the camera when pressing the shutter button. This was a time where Live View came in handy, since it would have been very tricky to see through the viewfinder that close to the ground! In retrospect, I should have put something under the front of the camera, to get the top of the building in frame. Oh well, next time!

Here's some crystal for today.

Okay, that's what I was thinking. It looked like you had it on the ground, but I was wondering about the 3-second timing...

I used the 2-sec timer for fireworks last September since all I had was a mini-tripod and no shutter release.

You know, that 7:45 a.m. picture of the Castle makes me think of a saying I have around here...

I tell my kids all the time, "I don't need to be AT Disney every day of my life; I just want to be able to set my sight on SOMETHING from there every day."

How great to be able to see the Castle at that time of day--so quiet and peaceful....

Don't we all wish we could start all our days this way?
