I was thinking it'd be nice to get a picture of our family in front of the "the castle" at MK. I'm sure it's possible at disney as anything is. I'm wondering if Disney has this service, also, what are the prices like?

Thanks!!:Pinkbounc princess:

They definitely have photographers as you're entering Main Street. I have no idea how much it costs. We always just find another family and "trade" taking pictures. We'll offer to take a pic of their whole family with their camera, and then usually they'll reciprocate. There are other spots to get good shots of the castle other than from Main Street, too.

They also have professional photographers with Mickey Mouse and some of the other characters. We've had good success with asking a CM to just take our picture with our camera. They've always been happy to.

The prfessional pictures they take are pretty reasonable. We get them taken each park we enter each day. Then you look them over and if you don't want them, you just don't buy them. They do some "magic" sometimes and some of them have been really good!! We also hand our camera to the photographer and they are always happy to snap a few shots on our own camera for us.

Yes they do! As I recall, the pictures cost about $15 for 2 - 5 x 7's or 1 - 8 x 10. Also ask the photographer to "add Tinkerbelle". Our photographer had our two boys hold out their hands and magically Tink appeared in the final photo!

if you can, go to the mk at opening and get you picture taken right away, i have one of dh and i and there are only 2 other people in the picture!

We often laugh about all the strangers in our WDW pics from over the years. There is one photo I recall where a young woman got in front of the camera as my Dad was snapping. She has a great figure and is wearing short shorts and my Mom loves to say "That's ME from behind..."

We are probably ALL in so many photos of families we have never met! :)

As someone mentioned, if you do the trade with a family picture, there are some great spots off to either side of the castle, where the picture will have very few if any others in it. If you go with the photographers there, just know they are all along the street and in the hub in front of the castle, so decide how big you want the castle to be in the shot and then find someone close by!

We bought the pictures when we went. My best advice is to do it the first day. That way if you don't like them, you can have them done over again. Also, have a couple different photographers take them. We did a far away one and a close up one. They are more than willing to do it. It's their job.

On our last trip we had a Crystal Palace PS for before park opening and stopped to have one done while there were not a lot of people around. We got a great shot of our family and I remember the girl at the photo center who printed it out saying "wow you just got one lady and her stroller in the background, that's great!" Of course once they printed it out and I walked outside I realized that this "one lady" was bending over getting something out of her stroller. She has on white shorts and a light blue thong under her shorts which is QUITE visible in our lovely family photo!

My favorite pics of our family with the castle in the background were taken from the area in front of the crystal palace. If you stand by the fence then you have the gardens behind you so there is no one immediately behind you, they are all near the castle base and really fade into the background of your photo. You also get a nice pic of the castle w/o all the sound equipment from the Cinderella's Surprise Celebration stage.

I just read in the latest Disney magazine that if you make a PS at Cindy's (or probably one of the other character breakfast options) for a time before the park opens, that also gives you a great opportunity to get a good shot with few to no other people in it.

I know those ps's for Cindy's are hard to come by though!

This is what we do. You can also do the Crystal Palace which isn't as hard to get. Make the PS for like 8:15am. Then they will let you in the park at 7:45am and that gives you 30 minutes to roam around Main Street taking photos with hardly anyone else in the shot. We have a shot of DD dressed as Cindy standing in front of the Walt and Mickey statue with the Castle in the background. Only one other person in the shot and they are not noticable hardly at all. Of course with my software, I took them right away, so no one is there now.;)
