Question for you guys....this will be our first stay at OKW....when taking the boat to DTD will we pass these, or do we need to be coming from one of the Port Orleans resorts to see them?
If it were anywhere besides WDW, I would be concerned about mosquitos too.
But if they can control them at Hilton Head (sits on a Marsh) and Fort Wilderness, than Im not that worried. We hate mosquitos and that is one of the reasons we love vacationing at WDW.
My family was so impressed when we stayed at SSR and HHI. Most of them live in Michigan and the first thing they noticed was the lack of mosquitos at both locations. We even went hiking in the woods at FW and didnt notice any mosquitos and I was looking for them!
I would not own DVC if WDW was infested with mosquitos, that's how much I dislike them! That is why I refuse to go camping and really looking forward to the more controlled environment THV offers.
Man I would hate to be responsible for keeping that foliage from overgrowing those places. From the pictures most of those plants are crawling, fast growing weed-wannabees. I would love to know what their Round-Up bill is each month
OH NO Round-up.
Disney needs to manually prune that vegitation in a very descrete manner. I've read numerous opinions that the THVs are in a protected area and Disney needs to minimize impact on.
When I was there in October staying at OKW, we took the boat from DD to OKW and passed these between the SS dock and the OKW dock. I'm guessing that's where the OP took the pictures.
Does anyone know if there has been any updates on when the THV will open for Ressies. I'm hoping they give SSR owners first shot at them. We are planning another trip in Oct. 2009 and hope to stay in one. I'll be watching for when the first ressies open to be ready that morning to call.
