Kellybell made me some beautiful designs. (Thanks again!) I'd love to see some pics of her designs on t-shirts. I scrolled through her thread but with 158 pages to look at I couldn't find any pics of her designs on finished shirts. I am having a hard time deciding on how much to cut around the name. I printed 2 of them on a transfer for dark shirts but the names were really designed for a light transfer.

I don't want to cut too much off as I love the designs. I am wondering what people have done with the fancy squiggles on the bottom and some of the little accent parts of the design. Did you cut the letters apart so there would be no white in between? What about the inside of the letters if there are stars in white? Leave the accent parts off if they weren't attached to the letters? (One has Flounder and some fish really tiny floating above the top which might be hard to cut out individually for example.) Or did you just cut a rectange around the name and leave the white? Thank you in advance.

Here is one of them I am talking about.

I just made a few shirts from designs she did for me. I would post pictures if someone would explain how to do it :confused3 I got a photobucket account and tried to post some pictures the other day, but it just kept putting a link to my photobucket in the post.

The designs I made shirts out of actually had frames around them, so I don't know what to tell you about how much to cut without a frame. Maybe you could use a ruler to measure a rectangle around the design and just cut that? Or, I know that you can add a frame around something in word. Put your picture in word and then insert a rectangle slightly larger than the picture around it. You can then send the rectangle to the back (I think you may need to click "behind text") and fill it with whatever color you want. It ends up looking like a frame.

I hope that helps and isn't too confusing. I'm brand new at this... :)

Thanks. I'll have to try using Word to frame it. The ones I am talking about don't have a frame because they were meant for lighter transfers but maybe Word will work.

To insert a pic you click on the graphic right above where you type a message on here that looks like a mountain. It's between an envelope and a caption graphic. Then insert the url link in the pop up window that comes up and save. Good luck! Hope that helps. :)

I don't have my requests from Kelly yet, but I asked her to put frames around them so I could use dark transfers (don't have to be flipped and from reviews seem to work better and last longer). I did the same with one of Veronica's designs that had little bubbles around it...I didn't want to have to cut them all out, so I asked her to frame it and it came out great! Here it is...

Very cute! I didn't have Kelly put a frame because one of the names I am using she already had posted and so I just had her make the other name similiar. I was planning on using a lighter shirt but I changed my mind because I had extra purple shirts. All the other ones she made for me have a border so I printed them on dark transfers or don't have a border but I printed them on light transfers. I didn't want to be a pain and have her make even more for me. LOL I'll try the Word trick later and see if that works. If not then I will probably just use it with the white rectangle. Or we'll see if I feel ambitious enough to cut around the letters. :rotfl:

I have tried putting the rectangle around the design and then filling it in with color. It will only fill in the rectangle not Kelly's design, because that is a separate picture. I instead just used a thick line border in a similar color as the design and left everything else white. I also had to put the rectangle in front of the design because there was a lot of white space on the right side of the design that blocked the rectangle if I put it in back. I have not had a chance to put it on a shirt yet, but here is a picture of what I did.

As for the posting a picture from photobucket. When you put the cursor over the picture you want, you will get a pull down list. You want to copy the IMG code. In your reply message, click on the icon that looks like a mountain with yellow background, paste the IMG code in the pop-up box. That should put the picture in for you.

Hope this helps,
Krista

I used dark transfers and trimmed mine. I used small very sharp scissors and an Xacto knife. I really like the way they came out. I even trimmed around some of the small stuff. A few of the small things, I left off because the were too small to trim around.

It looks like(to me any way), she may have used light transfers because the shirt colors are light, therefore the white background will no show on "Light Transfers"(no cutting required) if you are using "Dark Transfers" for darker colored shirts, you will have to cut the background out, but if you would like I could add a border to make it easier for you to cut:goodvibes
Just post on my Kellybell Names thread:cutie:

Hi Kelly! You have already done so much for me, I didn't want to impose on you anymore so I was trying to work with what I had. LOL I had asked you for the Daniella in Snow White on a light transfer because I had found your Allison in Ariel on a light transfer and I wanted them to be similiar in style (without having you have to make a new Allison Ariel one). I would love to "get back in line" and have you create both for a dark background. Should I just change my original post over there to say that so you'll see it when you get to it? I don't want to cause a riot over there. ;)

By the way, the light ones I made yesterday look awesome. I'll post them tomorrow after I do the dark ones tonight. The darks were still in the dryer last night so I didn't get to them. Thanks again!

She said she cut them out. She must have very steady hands. I am not sure I can cut that well. :rotfl:

Now that I look harder she did cut them you are exactly right.:rotfl:
As for the updated request, please post a new on, because now that I have already done your 1st request I will not go back to that page, so a new post is required.:cutie:

I am going to try to cut them out tonight and if not then I'll repost on your name page. No worries. I have more than enough outfits for my family now. I bought 2 custom outfits for my girls on ebay plus mickey tye die on etsy for all of us. Plus all of your shirts. We're only going for 3 days this trip. My girls are going to have to change a few times a day. :rotfl: It's a good thing we're FL residents with seasonal passes and go 4-5 times a year. ;) Your designs will get lots of views. That's for sure!

who made those names? im new to this area of the board. I always buy customs for my kids off ebay, but i would love to have their names like that. whoever made them do you charge and if so how much? They are just transferes right (iron ons)? I would love to get my son's name with McQueen adn Mater, his fav. And my daughter's with either cinderella or ariel. I would have to ask her when she gets home from school. Those are soooo cute!
