For all the times I have been to MK I have never seen the opening ceremony. I got to see that today. Also they had a rope drop where I was waiting in the castle. Never had done that either.

So I made a mad dash to It's a Small World and was in the second boat.

It seems brighter, the music sounds better, the water was cleaner. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Now I can get some work done around the house. Next adventure is to hit a soft opening for Soarin. I hope I get lucky for that one.

Wow! The wonders of a few coats of paint. Does it ever look bright and generally more appealing? Have they changed any of the puppets and things or just a little bit of a face lift?

Since it's been a while since I rode it all looked new and fresh to me. Some of the costumes looked different than I remember. Also all the dolls are working where before you had a lot of broken ones.

But the most important question my 4-year old DD has is: Are the hippos eyes blinking or winking?

(The last time we were on it when she was 3 it was winking, and she thought that was hysterical. I told her he might actually be blinking after the rehab, so she's anxious to know what he 's doing now.)

I just got back today and was really bummed that Small World opened the day after I left, your pictures helped thanks.

FYI I got into the soft opening for soarin. It was awesome! By far my new favorite ride in Epcot.

I am jealous you got to ride Soarin. I can't wait since I love the one at DL.

I am not sure if the hippo is winking or blinking. I guess I will have to go on it again to see.

Aahhh safetymom -- What timing! I am sitting here listening to Radio Buena Vista and they started playing the Magic Kingdom Main Entrance Medley just as I was opening up your pictures. I feel like I have just taken a mini-vacation and never left my computer! Thanks! This was the shortest and most inexpensive trip to WDW I ever took!

Safetymom--can you tell me if they had a souvinier stand for Small World again?? I know last summer it was gone much to our disappointment and I had a cm say they may not have Small World merchandise anymore because it does not sell. Then I had another cm disagree with what the first cm told me. Thanks for the help!
