For Tulirose ;)

This leaves of this Tri-coloured Beech were an almost unbelievable pink! People (myself included), were rubbing them to make sure they were real! :) I wish I had a close-up shot of the leaves, but the garden was very small, and very crowded (although you can't tell that from this pic).

There is a very strong emphasis on garden art, which I really enjoy.

This is the back wall of a garage.

Now this, was amazing!!!! A steel sculpture, approx. 12' tall. The man who made it calls himself....The Thingmaker! :) A must for everyone's backyard! :)

The Hand

:flower3:

Were there any other examples of the thingmakers art? Could you just imagine a giant clamatis or a tomato plant climbing all over that hand. Oh I know, how about A beanstalk.

Wow! That hand is something else.

But thank you, thank you, thank you for the peony pix! Those peonies are not as "fluffy" as what I am used to but they are still very very pretty! Did they smell nice too?

And how did you EVER know that peonies are my most favorite flower??? .... Oh, that's right, the Tag Fairy has announced it to the entire world (or at least to the people who visit the DIS forums! LOL!)

You have some gardens in your area, Kim! WOWZA is all I can say.....

And I'm green with envy...that's for sure!

I love the Tri-coloured Beech it's so pretty. I wish we had gardens like those here. Thanks for sharing those pictures.

I love those pink flowers! And the hand is so cool!

thanks for sharing!!

tricia.

The Thingmaker is so creative, I love it. Is he a commercial artist?
The garage wall is a very clever way to spruce up an otherwise boring wall. Was it the Thingmaker who made it?
My fav though is the woman. Is that wood? I would imagine she only comes out on sunny days.
The people in your area know how to put an artisitic flare in their gardens. I'm inspired to do something, just don't know what.

I don't know if the Thingmaker is a commercial artist, Deb. I just figured they were a sculptor. The "Hand" and the garage wall were in two separate gardens.

DH thought the wooden lady was made of Douglas Fir, with some sort of protective finish. :)

Chessie, yes there was another example of the Thingmaker's work, and I do have a picture of it, but I didn't post it because I didn't like it...lol.

:teeth:

Tulirose, I never got close enough to the peony to check it's scent. As far as peonies being your favourite flower, I think you might have mentioned it once or twice! :p ;) :D

Don't you guys have garden tours in your cities/towns/neighbourhoods? We're planning on going on another tour this Sunday! :)

I've seen ads in the paper about garden tours here on Long Island. They are usually for gardens that are further out east, in the Hamptons. They seem to only charge about 5 dollars a garden. It would make a wonderful day trip and I think hubby might even enjoy it. Maybe next time I see a little ad about it, I'll cut it out - that's a beginning ya know - and maybe actually get to go to a garden sooner or later.
