we are going to WDW Dec 30-Jan 6. there are 8 of us, 4 adults, a 14 year old 11 year old and 2 9-year olds. my 14 year old daughter is super picky when it comes to what she eats, which mainly consists of french fries, buttered noodles. some bread, a few fruits etc....

we are planning on using her TS credits since we had to pay adult for her to go to Le Cellier one night since it is two TS and plan on paying cash for all her sad pathetic meals :)

however, i have Ohana scheduled one night.....my question is will we have to pay full price for her or will they just make french fries or something for her for a bit extra? i know they will attempt to make a request and can usually get it from another restaurant nearby....just curious if we will be paying $40 for french fries and lemonade?

she has a sensory issue when it comes to food....2 of those other kids up there are mine also and they eat pretty much anything...i can assure you she does not choose to be 'different', it can be quite a source of teasing :headache:

thanks

At buffets and AYCE like Ohana, she will be charged. Every so often, there are reports of a sleeping kid not being charged...but you can pretty much count on being charged.

This isn't quite what you asked, but...would it be worth considering having her and one other person eat at Kona Cafe instead? The two restaurants are adjacent to each other. 'Ohana has a fixed menu served family style, focusing on skewered meats, which sounds like your DD would completely NOT enjoy. Kona Cafe, OTOH, has a menu, but you could get noodles, french fries, and a few other things which would be more palatable to her. At 14, I'm guessing the ambience at 'Ohana isn't such a draw as it would be for the younger kids.

It's not a great solution, but you would all be in the same building, and she could at least have something to eat.

this is a FANTASTIC idea! thank you so much.......

We went to Ohana with a group of 14 including 7 kids. They were great and brought out platters of chicken nuggets, fries and mac and cheese. It was family style and they brought out more as our hungry bunch finished it off. They did also leave the traditional food at the kids table so the kids could pick from whatever they wanted.

Yes, they will allow anyone (apparently not just kids) to order the alternative dishes apparently meant for picky children. But there will be no reduction in price. A 14 year old who eats a few french fries or chicken nuggets will still be charged the full adult price.

thanks guys....i think we will take the suggestion and have her and someone else go to Kona...however, IF she were to ever eat a chicken nugget or Mac and cheese even i would pay $40 easily :)

last time we went to disney (she was only 9) but she ate french fries every lunch and dinner...at least she eats plain noodles and gasp cheese pizza now :)
