Picky eaters

Hi there. We leave for Disney in about 27 days and I still have to make my reservations (I have 1 made for Chef Mickey's the first morning). We are not on the dining plan. I know, I'm behind. :confused3

I need some advice on where to eat for picky eaters. My DH is a pizza, hamburgers, steak, chicken, potatos (and I mean plain chicken, steak & potato - no spices) kind of guy. So whatever restaurants we make ADR's at I have to make sure there is something on the menu that he will be able to enjoy. I mean, he'll go anywhere the rest of the family wants (he's pretty easy going that way) as long as he can enjoy a hamburger or a regular steak while he's there. I've taken a look at a lot of the menu's but to be honest I'm getting overwhelmed and a bit stressed because the trip is coming up so fast. Would any of you mind giving me some various suggestions as to where we might go around WDW for the picky eater in my life? :rotfl2:

Thanks in advance!
Nicole

Have you gone to allearsnet.com and looked at their menus? That way you can see what he might like or dislike at each place. Good luck!

Hamburgers- great at MK Pecos Bill and Y&BC Beaches and Cream Restaurant both are must do for us

Pizza- haven't found any good pizza on property-IMHO We drive to Flipper's Pizza off property. They have 3 locations. Just saw info that Flipper's is the most popular pizza in Orlando.

Steak- London broil on buffet at HW&Vine was very good, OHana dinner steak was excellent, saw other steak places, but they were quite pricey

Some good "plain food" restaurants are: Sci-Fi, Plaza Restaurant, LeCellier, Liberty Tree Tavern and Whispering Canyone Cafe. Good luck.

Sorry forgot one of the best "down home, plain cooking" restaurants - 50's Prime Time Cafe.

If you opt for table service meals, consider going to lunch instead of dinner. I have found that the lunch menus have more of a selection for pickey eaters. For dinner you can try counter service. Most of the counter service places have pizza or burgers.

These items are abundant all over WDW. Sometimes unavoidable at CS. If your man cant handle the menu where you're eating by asking for his food w/out the sauces etc... Maybe he should get a CS meal then join the family at dinner for desert, and cocktails (or beer) if he likes. :teacher:

I really appreciate all the positive suggestions. :sunny:
It's helping more than you know! Keep them coming, I'll take a look at these restaurants and make my ADR's tonight. Thanks again! :thumbsup2

Asking for food without the sauces/etc doesn't necessarily make the food taste any better (IMHO) to someone that doesn't like them. And it's my DH's vacation also - he deserves to have just as much fun (and enjoy his meals) as the rest of us. Also - we eat together as a family, we don't separate for sit-down meals. But thanks for the "suggestion".

Whispering Canyon Cafe has some good burgers. Most of the places that we have had good steak are on the expensive side. LeCellier has terrific steak, even for those who like plain and simple, like me. And I believe you can get some pretty good roast/barbequed chicken over in AK.
