So prior to our trip I was paranoid about the weather... Hurricane Isaac was predicted to hit Florida and I had the worst case senario planted in my head. We are lucky here in Ontario, Canada that we really dont see a lot of natural disasters so I didnt know what to expect. Thankfully some people on the Disboards calmed my nerves and I knew that in case of emergency Disney would know what to do
So the big day arrived and thankfully Disney just got the tailend of the storm but boy oh boy I have NEVER in my life seen rain like that. The plan for the day had been Animal Kingdom but the backup plan was Epcot (apparently that was EVERYONES plan, as we would see when arriving @ the park). We would not let rain get in our way of having fun though so off we went!
Praise Ponchos! Amber, despite it pouring did not remove those sunglasses all day? Apparently it prevented water from going in her eyes?
Initially my too cool dad did not want to wear his poncho... the second we stepped into Epcot his mind changed!
Since it was raining SO much we decided to start with Spaceship Earth. I had never been on this before, astonishing I know, so I didnt know what to expect. Everyone really liked it and had fun with the hands on activities afterwards.
Going for a race!
Afterwards we decided to head over to The Land to ride... you guessed it! Oh look, we found more pressed pennies!
"ARIN" aka Soarin' - it was so busy in there. Crowds that we thankfully will not encounter again on our trip (we are not fans and dont handle big crowds well so no Christmas week Disney vacation for us).
Again my mum decided to sit out this one. She doesnt like heights either
Good thing she chose this since we ended up row 1. I really liked Soarin' - the images were gorgeous, Jett thought it was fun but my dad and Amber did not enjoy. They were both really nervous about the height
After the ride we decided to grab an early lunch. My mum and I had been looking forward to Sunshine Seasons so clearly that was our choice. Amber and my dad decided to brave the elements and head over to Electric Umbrella for... surprise surprise chicken nuggets!
I adored Sunshine Seasons. Jett ordered the Kids Macaroni and Cheese (he said it was "awesome, way better than the stuff out of the box"), my mum ordered the Turkey and Monteray Jack with chips and Tiramisu, I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich with a Potato Salad (AMAZING) and Strawberry Shortcake.
While we were eating we swore we heard someone calling "Hey... Jett" but looking around we didnt see anything at first. Then "Hey... Jett" got closer - we looked and there was Jett's friend from dance and her family. They were running to Soarin but we would run into them later on in Epcot (and get a picture)! We knew that they were going to be in Disney but hadnt made plans to meet up. They would be just one of 5 sets of people we knew that we just happened to run into.
All together.... Its a Small World AfterAll....
