Im looking at San Angel's menu bc we all like Mexican food. But, my two Dds and myself are very picky. I.e. No veggies, and very plain meat and cheese tacos or quesadillas. Would they be accommodating? We don't even want the rice or veggies if we ordered off the kids meals. Would they discount that for us?

Looking at the kids menu there are plainish tacos and quesadillias but I would not expect a discount if you hold the sides that come with the meal. You might be better off at the QS outside.

No they will not be able to make off menu plain meat and cheese tacos or quesadillas.
This is NOT your traditional Americanized Tex-Mex restaurant. It is more traditional Mexican food.
It sounds to me like this is not a good fit for you.

1) NO DISCOUNTS on menu items . . . Disney does not like to reduce food costs.
2) Regardless how you alter the dish, you ordered that dish at that price.
3) The questions would be
. . . how much of ingredient(s) change makes how much of a money change?
. . . how could they make all the possible pricing alternatives in the computer?
4) As for Mexico, the food in HIGHLY AMERICANIZED, and you should be fine.

I sat next to a table a few weeks ago (the tables are almost uncomfortably close together) and couldn't help but overhear the kids ask for plain cheese quesadillas with nothing else. It didn't seem like a problem but I have no idea on the charge. I highly doubt it would be discounted.

I am really picky (same way) and would never choose that restaurant. I would actually recommend having pizza at Via Napoli in Italy. My husband and I split a half pepperoni, half four cheese pizza, and we love it! I know you can get pizza anywhere, but it is SO GOOD. Very interesting crust - we haven't had anything like it where we live, and I travel to Chicago often.

I also recommend Beaches and Cream (at the Yacht and Beach Club) if you guys like plain food. Very, very short walk outside of International Gateway.

My DD is picky. When we have gone there, she usually orders the Pollo A Las Rajas - grilled chicken breast served with red peppers and onion cream sauce, poblano rice and queso fresco. But she orders it plain with everything on the side, so she can try the sauce but not have it touching her chicken. She hated the rice. They also bring out chips with two types of dip that is very good. The children's menu does offer Cheese Quesadillas, grilled chicken breast, grilled mahi mahi, chicken or steak tacos, & chicken tenders. All do come with veggies & rice. When you order you can ask for no rice & veggies, but will be charged the same, which is only around $9.50. Unfortunately, they do not have fries, we asked before, our DD loves fries.

Honestly, it sounds like you might like the food at La Cantina better. I know it isn't a TS meal, but you may want to at least look at the menu, rather than eat where you may not like your meal.
