Pickle part III

Hello, Pickles. Busy day at work today and try to catch up on all my threads (I've decided it is near impossible on some days). And been dealing with Power of Attorneys for my inlaws.

I hope everyone has a glorious weekend. I'm taking Mark to Milwaukee on Saturday to go to the zoo (our zoo doesn't have elephants and Milwaukee does and they are Mark's favorite). Then we are meeting a DISer and his family for lunch.

That sounds like fun, Kathy!

I am so far behind on all of my threads on the DIS anymore. I would have had time to catch up on vacation, but won't have a computer, so I guess I will be farther behind. I saw thing a while back about how to convert a trip report into a PDF so you can read on your Kindle, but I can't find it now. Oh well....will be a totally Disney-free vacation.:lmao:Yeah, right!!!:lmao:

ETA: Ooohhhh....Speaking of Disney Vacations, I just noticed my ticker.....6 Months from today!!!!

I'm 43 days away from my first one and then 4 months 4 days to trip #2. :goodvibes

And I'm sure you'll find some kind of Disney fix on your vacation. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I have already looked up the address of the Disney outlet in Vegas :teeth:

I knew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Well, I never made it there!

I DID find hidden Mickey's in the carpet in the Monte Carlo, and we bought matching Maui Disney t-shirts for our cruise (which Martina and I wore on the plane home, being the Disney Dorks that we are)

We had tons of flight issues, but had a great time while we were on land!

Next trip: Dream Cruise!!!! I made an ADR yesterday for Kona Cafe for the night before we sail:cloud9:

I unsubscribed from this thread and got an email notification. WTH? :confused3

Nice to see some chatting going on. Glad you had a nice trip, Heather. :cloud9: This time next week will be one hour from landing at MCO. And I couldn't care less. :sad2: I want this crazy merry go round to stop. I've had enough! I'll be happy to see my bestie though. I could use a good hug from her. She arrives a couple of days later. Janet and I are going to try to meet up before she heads home as well.

Your cruise will be here before you know it, girl. Your trip too, Kathy! :)

Tomorrow is Friday. Let the madness of packing begin!

:grouphug: Tracy! I am sorry you are still not feeling yourself. I am so excited for your trip, and I know it will be great to see your BFF and Janet! I hope you have an amazing time!!

 Tracy, why would you unsubscribe from your own thread? :confused3 Not all threads are hoppin' all the time, but it is nice to check in when possible, yet not feel obligated to do so...:goodvibes

Janet and Tracy, hope you both have a Magical time and enjoy every minute! Will be nice if you do get a few minutes to meet!

Safe travels and have fun!! :wave2: :cool1:

Thank you, Heather. Glad you are excited for my trip. LOL. Things just keep getting worse with diagnoses with both parents now and me! I feel like I am in a cartoon or something. Seriously! Mark finds out if he needs open heart surgery on the 22nd and he has to travel two hours alone for the appointment because Cass and I will be on our way to Maine for our flight. They could not change the appointment date. :sad2: Talk about a knife in the gut. He should not be alone for this, but there is no one to go with him. He says he will be fine alone and not to worry about it. Hello?! Guilt galore. *SCREAMS* Then, my Dad just told me yesterday that my grandma is losing her battle with her illnesses and all I worry about is she loses it while I am away. :sad1: She is 91 and has fought so hard these past couple of years. I am so proud of her! She's got spunk, that's for sure.

I'm trying really really hard to get psyched about this trip, but... not happening at all, kwim? So, don't mind me, just sounding off, which I told myself I wouldn't do. Ugh. That's it. No more. All done.

Hope you have a great weekend and are able to get some sleep. I totally get the sleep thing, as you know. Hugs.

Have a great trip, Janet! Enjoy the train ride and wave when passing through NC! Talk soon!

I GOT AN EMAIL NOTIFICATION TOO!!!!
Well, I didn't even remember this thread was here. So it was meant to be :)

Hugs, Tracy! I'm praying for Mark and your Grandma!

Hope you can go and enjoy yourself!!!

Kinda had a crappy weekend here. My Aunt passed away yesterday. She had been battling multiple forms of cancer and has been in hospice care since my Grandma passed away a month ago.

Went to work in the garden that became a weed jungle while we were away. Chris and I got eaten alive by mosqiitoes, and Brian found a bee's nest and got stung several times.

On the upside...
I talked to Janet on Sat, as she was headed for the train station.

Martina, my MIL and niece had a flight delay, but they made it! They are only doing Universal though.

I hope you have a blast once you get there!!!

Hi Kelly!!! :thumbsup2 Glad things are looking up there!. How did all of the 2nd interviews go???

Janet, Sam and sister Diane made it to WDW - the car they were in on the train was freezing, but they did buy blankets and made it without turning into ice cubes!

They love the POP room location - connecting rooms, 2nd floor, view of trees....BUT...they are so close to everything...literally 3 mins from the food court etc...so the crummy view is a worthwhile trade off for location! They only need to go a few steps and theh have a clear view of the lake, AOA and should they be there at night, they could see the top of IllumiNations! :thumbsup2

Her niece and grand niece arrived early afternoon and they all went to AK, back to the room to change out of some soaking wet clothes (her niece had the went seat on Kali River), then over to MK EMH - a great first day. POP computers were having issues, so their tkts and room keys with DP could not be loaded, so they the CM gave them all one day hoppers - which was fun because the regular tkts are base. So, the one day glitch was a perk! Janet has such a great attitude and always finds the positive! ::yes::

Everyone slept in this morning (except Janet, of course), but they'll be on the way soon. :)

Have a great day!! :cool1:

Isn't it odd?!?! :rotfl: I don't blame you one bit for not knowing the thread was here or even expected to see you post ever. I am SOOOOOO happy that things are looking up for you all. Have prayed so much for you! I only wish you were going to be at AKV this year so we could meet you in person! Boo. Some day, my friend. I will toast to you Thursday! :lovestruc Be well!

Hi Kelly!!! :thumbsup2 Glad things are looking up there!. How did all of the 2nd interviews go???

Aw, I am sorry for your loss. It's been a terrible year for losses, it seems. :sad2: My dad took Cass and I to go see my grandma today. She's got spunk, I'll give her that. She has 100 lives, I am sure. She has improved and looks wonderful compared to what she did last week according to my dad. She was thrilled to see Cass. She loves her great grandchildren. :cloud9: She thinks Cass is going to be tall like me. They play bingo everyday at the home and it costs $2 so Cassie gave her (from my dad) a $2 coin (we call them toonies) and told her that it was special and she will win. Gram smiled ear to ear. :lovestruc I am happy knowing that she is feeling better, but know that it can change at any time. She's happy for Cass to be seeing Mickey and her friends from New York. That gave me some peace of mind.

Glad you got to talk with Janet. I hope she has a great trip and weather.

Poor Brian getting stung. At least it wasn't one of the kids. Ow!!

We WILL have a blast once we get there. I plan on it, thank you.

Hey, Kelly! Good to see you around here! Very happy to see how well Emily is doing and praying Jeff will receive a fantastic job offer soon!

Heather, I am so sorry you've been through so much lately! Some days it just seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. BIG hugs!

Tracy, not long now...happy and safe travels!

Janet had a fabulous time at AK today - she loves that park more than anyone I know...and had had a ball going on EE a few times! Everyone looks like they're having a wonderful time in the text photos...even if it is typical cental Florida HOT & Muggy!

This is one of the most difficult weeks of the year for us....Toby's angel day is Wednesday, the 22nd...but because he was not found until the 29th...it is a mother's worst nightmare for me...it never gets easier.... I want to feel his big bear hug again, hear his voice again, smell him again...sigh.... I still sleep with his t-shirt...but it doesn't smell like him anymore...

So nice to post here :)

Jeff's interview went great and they told him he would hear from them this week by the end of the week. It sounds promising, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. This job is with Weyerhauser. He has another interview on Thursday at noon with a company called Knauf. It is a second interview too.

I talked to Em today and she says her head feels amazing!!! She is having a "normal" time :) !!! Dr. H says the weather and altitude there is much better for people with her disease. I told her I still want her to come home! I miss her. She's got a purpose there and feels needed so it is good for her to be there. I think eventually she will move there. Guess we are going to have to go there too.

Lily starts school on Wednesday. I get my kids on Monday and Baylie starts Monday too. Hard to believe our summer is over.

Hopefully, I can keep up better here. Love all of you so much and appreciate you all and your prayers and support so very much.

Would love to be at AKV with everyone :) xxxooo Kelly

I'm sorry this is a difficult time for you, Christine. You have lots of people on the DIS to hold you up. The internet is great that way. I hope you take comfort in that, at least. I'm sure it never gets any easier. God be with you.

Kelly, what can I say. Can we hear a WOMP WOMP on the interviews for Jeff?!! Crossing my fingers and toes for you all and YES!! you will need to move "home" to Florida. :cloud9: My dear, don't worry about keeping up here. We all have lives outside the DIS. :scared1: I know, skeery thought i'nt it?! :rotfl2:

Nice to hear Janet is having a blast. Who couldn't in Disney?! :confused3 Yahoo!! 6am and on the road for us tomorrow morning to Maine then first thing out Thursday morning. Can't wait! I SO need this. :yay:

Good Morning, Pickles!

Kelly, that is such amazing news about Em! I think the difference in here and FL can be better for others as well - I have MS and feel so much better in FL or even Boston. Hope you can all move to FL in the not too distant future (and it is still Mia's goal, but finances are holding us back for a while). So good to see you here. xoxo

Thank you, Tracy. I rarely share anything about Toby publicly (especially my feelings), but we are a small group who have been together for a few years.

Just two more sleeps and you'll be seeing that wonderful Disney World sign!! Hope you & Janet are able to connect and see one another.:goodvibes

Safe travels tomorrow morning to Maine...then off you go on Thursday! Have a GREAT time!:grouphug:
