Pickle part III

Aw, I am sorry for your loss. It's been a terrible year for losses, it seems. :sad2: My dad took Cass and I to go see my grandma today. She's got spunk, I'll give her that. She has 100 lives, I am sure. She has improved and looks wonderful compared to what she did last week according to my dad. She was thrilled to see Cass. She loves her great grandchildren. :cloud9: She thinks Cass is going to be tall like me. They play bingo everyday at the home and it costs $2 so Cassie gave her (from my dad) a $2 coin (we call them toonies) and told her that it was special and she will win. Gram smiled ear to ear. :lovestruc I am happy knowing that she is feeling better, but know that it can change at any time. She's happy for Cass to be seeing Mickey and her friends from New York. That gave me some peace of mind.

Glad you got to talk with Janet. I hope she has a great trip and weather.

Poor Brian getting stung. At least it wasn't one of the kids. Ow!!

We WILL have a blast once we get there. I plan on it, thank you.
Your Grandma sounds a lot like mine! She had been in and out of hospice 3 times before she passed. Just kept bouncing back. When we went down to see her for her 92nd birthday, she didn't look great, but we had seen her worse. I think that she decided that she had seen everyone for her birthday and it was time to go. I was glad that she didn't suffer.

ETA: That sounded bad when I re-read it! I am in no way saying this is the end for your Gram, just the bouncing back and forth sounds like my Grandma. Praying yours is feeling better and has many more good times with you!
Hey, Kelly! Good to see you around here! Very happy to see how well Emily is doing and praying Jeff will receive a fantastic job offer soon!

Heather, I am so sorry you've been through so much lately! Some days it just seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. BIG hugs!

Tracy, not long now...happy and safe travels!

Janet had a fabulous time at AK today - she loves that park more than anyone I know...and had had a ball going on EE a few times! Everyone looks like they're having a wonderful time in the text photos...even if it is typical cental Florida HOT & Muggy!

This is one of the most difficult weeks of the year for us....Toby's angel day is Wednesday, the 22nd...but because he was not found until the 29th...it is a mother's worst nightmare for me...it never gets easier.... I want to feel his big bear hug again, hear his voice again, smell him again...sigh.... I still sleep with his t-shirt...but it doesn't smell like him anymore...
I just got a text from Janet....They are in DHS today and have already done Toy Story Mania twice.

Hugs, Christine. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child. :grouphug::littleangel:
So nice to post here :)

Jeff's interview went great and they told him he would hear from them this week by the end of the week. It sounds promising, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. This job is with Weyerhauser. He has another interview on Thursday at noon with a company called Knauf. It is a second interview too.

I talked to Em today and she says her head feels amazing!!! She is having a "normal" time :) !!! Dr. H says the weather and altitude there is much better for people with her disease. I told her I still want her to come home! I miss her. She's got a purpose there and feels needed so it is good for her to be there. I think eventually she will move there. Guess we are going to have to go there too.

Lily starts school on Wednesday. I get my kids on Monday and Baylie starts Monday too. Hard to believe our summer is over.

Hopefully, I can keep up better here. Love all of you so much and appreciate you all and your prayers and support so very much.

Would love to be at AKV with everyone :) xxxooo Kelly
I am so glad things are going well for you all! You need a break! To hear that Emily is feeling normal is such a blessing!!!
I'm sorry this is a difficult time for you, Christine. You have lots of people on the DIS to hold you up. The internet is great that way. I hope you take comfort in that, at least. I'm sure it never gets any easier. God be with you.

Kelly, what can I say. Can we hear a WOMP WOMP on the interviews for Jeff?!! Crossing my fingers and toes for you all and YES!! you will need to move "home" to Florida. :cloud9: My dear, don't worry about keeping up here. We all have lives outside the DIS. :scared1: I know, skeery thought i'nt it?! :rotfl2:

Nice to hear Janet is having a blast. Who couldn't in Disney?! :confused3 Yahoo!! 6am and on the road for us tomorrow morning to Maine then first thing out Thursday morning. Can't wait! I SO need this. :yay:

Woo Hoo!!! So close!!! Have a blast!!!

Heather, Janet just did TOT again and enjoyed it this time!! (better her than me!) Glad she is sending you texts too! It is fun to be home and getting live updates!

Cool! I did TOT for the first time in Nov (and alone at that!!!) and it was fun. I am petrified of heights and thought I would hate it, but I was blessed with some time alone in DHS and took advantage of the single rider line. Not sure I would wait for 2 hours like some people do, but it was cool with the 5 min wait I had.

I just got a text from my Niece. She and Martina just went on some HUGE roller coaster in Universal. (I have no idea what it is, as I haven't been there since I was in college back in the stone ages) My little girl is becoming a daredevil. I hope they get to go on Harry Potter. I know Brooke (my Niece) was really looking forward to that one.

No worries Heather, I understood exactly what you meant. You did not need to go back and edit. That was very thoughtful of you, though. I hope my grandma doesn't suffer either. She's already refusing dialysis when it gets to that point. Ugh.
Have a great rest of the week!

Tracy, you should be there by now!!! Hope you have a MAGICAL time!!!!:cloud9:

Martina came home from Universal last night. She loved it...they stayed at Nick Suites, and I think they had just as much fun there as they did at the parks. Sweetie that she is knows how mych of a Disney Nut I am, so she stopped in the Disney store at the airport, and brought me Mickey Head rice Krispie treats and sunglasses!!!:lovestruc

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Heather, so happy Martina had a great time! So sweet of her to bring home Disney goodies for mom! :)

:yay::yay::yay: I know that this is a dead thread but had to share my excitement (first time in a long time) even if no one reads it, I don't care! LOL :woohoo::goodvibes

I just scored a pair of tickets for the Canadian Tenors concert (think El Divo) front row, dead centre. :dance3:   :cheer2: :thumbsup2 :cool1::love:

That is all. :p

Congratulations, Trace!!:cheer2: During Holiday Season? Whenever, it will be fabulous! WTG! :yay::cheer2:pixiedust:

I would be too - pretty darn exciting!

(Did the superstorm reach you? Everyone okay?)

Just wind and rain and mid sixties for weather. Go figure. Still wearing capris and sandals and will continue until three feet of the white stuff is down.

Of course, here in the South we have freeze warnings!!! Go figure...and my trip to Boston next Friday, Nov 9th? The same European storm tracker that got Sandy exactly right is predicting a Nor'Easter next week for Boston!!:sad2:

Some times I feel like I'll never get out of NC again - every possible trip to anywhere falls through.

To my Pickle friends who might not know - our precious Jackie (Maltese) crossed last Friday, Oct 26th...it's been a rough two weeks. The house is depressing without her sweet presence....our hearts are broken. :sad1:

Sorry to hear about your trip and Jackie. :( Take comfort know that she had a good life during her last years. She was very fortunate to have been rescued and given a very loving home. I know that doesn't help with the sadness. Nothing does. It's never easy to lose a pet, that's for sure.

The weather is whacked. I've said that Mother Nature and her pals got into some funny stuff because she's all messed up. My friends in Ohio couldn't trick or treat last night with her little ones because it was too cold. It was 61 here and beautiful. Makes no sense. Cross those fingers for your trip to Boston. Just the thought of snow gives me the willies. Hate it, don't want it, wouldn't care to ever see it again!

Thanks, Tracy. We miss her so much...Rosie is depressed too. Sophia was well prepared and reminds us: "Jackie is in heaven with Gracie and Uncle Toby. And remember, Nana, Jesus is taking care of them and they are healthy and running and playing together with Uncle Toby." She smiles whole reminding us... So sweet....

Hi Pickles! I didn't get the updates :confused3 Oh well...glad we are chatting here again! Christine, I'm so sorry again to hear about Jackie. I know you love your furbabies so much. Hope you did end up going to Boston though!

Tracy, Yay on Il Divo...front and centre too!!!!

Tracy..you asked about he cruise...it is getting close...about 85 days now! Final payment is due the 20th, then we can book spa appts, excursions, Palo and Remy, etc. I think the only extra I am gonna do is a couples massage though....it is only a 4 day cruise and there is so much to enjoy that is included, there is really no need for all of the extras.

We are staying at All Star Sports the night before...this has been a suprise for Chris...he will go crazy there. My friend Teresa wil be there this weekend though, and is going to have Goofy or Mickey send a postcard telling them us where we are staying. I will have the camera ready when they get the mail.:yay:
No parks this time...will do DTD in the afternoon, and then head over to the Poly for dinner at Kona, followed by fireworks and EWP from the beach.....this has been my birthday dream for years. (although I am thinking of cancelling it and doing dinner at Fultons instead, as it is easier logistically....we'll see)

Then on to the ship on the 3rd.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I am glad that you are getting to live your dream. Mine is to stay at the Poly and one of the Epcot resorts - BWV interests me the most. Some day. :cloud9:

I can do Disney without the parks - no problem. I am there for the weather, to relax and take in the sights. On our trip in August without Mark, we did the parks a few days and that was it. We missed Mark, so that may have had something to do with it. But when Mark and I were at OKW in September, I can't remember now, but I think we only went to the parks three days. The rest were spent walking the resort, LOTS of pool time and walking DTD. We just needed to relax and regroup given everything going on. It was almost like we were Disney'd out. :scared1:

If I do my solo trip, I might go to Epcot a couple of days and MK once. The rest, I just want to chillax. Too much to decompress from, kwim? That's all up in the air now, anyways. We also aren't going this August which I am bummed about. We love our trips with our BFFs. We may head to NY instead.

The couples massage sounds heavenly. I have to get a massage every month for my back problems and let me tell you, if I could stay there forever! :rotfl:

I am so excited for you! :cheer2: 85 days is not long at all! Woohoo!

Heather, so happy your dream trip is not too far away now!! SO exciting!!:cool1:

I am off to Boston this evening - my dear friend insisted I come...already had the air and she paid for the Inn in advance as a surprise, but had to tell me because I was cancelling. VERY nice birthday surprise! So, 2 ngts on the Cape at an Inn on the ocean in a room with full/direct oceans views - corner room, with views from 2 sides! Three days with my dearest friend...the world will be just about perfect for 3 days! ::yes::

Happy November, Pickles! :flower3:

I would love a more relaxing Disney experience. A week to 10 days wit only a few park days would be great! We usually go for shorter time periods, so with the kids, it ends up being go, go, go. I am actually looking forward to a more relaxing Disney experience. There is just as much magic and pixie dust in the resorts as in the parks (and I'm sure there is plenty on the cruise ship as well!):cool1:

But hey....."Disneyed out???":scared1: Whatcha talkin' bout, Willis?:lmao:

Here's to fun trips for you no matter where they are!

Oh I am so glad that you still get to go! What a nice Birthday gift from your friend! :flower3:
I hope you enjoy every moment!!!
