Hi, Pickles. Hope you are all doing well. I've seen/talked to Christine and Janet on my PTR. How are the rest of you doing?

We had fun and will probably go on another cruise (and take the kids) sometime. As much as I LOVE Disney, it was nice not to have to do anything....I'd love to do a Disney cruise.....someday.....

The Disney cruise is awesome... definitely worth the extra $$ in my opinion if you can swing it. I'm hoping to go back in maybe 2012 or 2013 on the new ship. *fingers crossed*

Just stopped by to show of my new siggie! Things are finally starting to ease up around here a bit. So of course... I started planning a trip! I haven't told anyone yet, not even Wynn. If all goes well, I will tell them at Christmas. We will go Oct 2011. So far away, but timing and money-wise, we really do need to wait until then.

I thought about WDW, but do not really want to go during all the construction. I think we are going to do an Orlando flex ticket. We will have unlimited admission to Universal, IoA, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Aquatica, and Wet n Wild for the length of our stay. I am looking into renting a timeshare for the week. Looks like tickets will be around $1000 and the time share $800, so I should come in about $400 cheaper than WDW. I am really excited! I just hope I can keep it all a secret for the next 5 months!

We are getting ready to get very busy around here. Boy Scouts has a ton going on lately, and Girl Scouts is starting up in 3 weeks. So I can kiss all my "free time" goodbye. Avery, Tucker, and I will be visiting Kennedy Space Center over Labor Day with the Boy Scouts. And I have a big campout with Girl Scouts in October, Great Wolf Lodge in Jan, and Dollywood in May... busy year!

Both kids are still in karate and doing well. Tucker is known as the "Blue Menace" in class and is getting really good at sparring. None of the kids want to fight him because his reach is so long... he's only about an inch shorter than me now. He has fought back against his bully on a couple of occasions, and gotten in some really good blows. I think he has solved his own problem. Avery is called "The Princess of Pain" by her instructor. She fights like a little Tazmanian Devil... fists flying in from all directions. She had to break a board with her fist for her orange belt test, and was a bit nervous. The instructor told her to pretend it was her brother... we didn't even get a pic she smashed it so fast! I think she will be deadly before we have to worry about bullying with her.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm glad I can keep up with everyone's life through FB, because it gets hard to check in here very often. Take care Pickles!

Kari, I get exhausted just reading about your life! My goodness, it's absolutely amazing how much you do all the time!

Glad you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Your upcoming trips sound like fun and the planning for 2011 will fabulous! have you considered All star Vacation Homes? They have contests on FB - maybe you could win a free week! Sadly, have not been to Dollywood - no one wants to go with me. I'll be looking forward to lots of pics!

I had a uterine biopsy last week and the results showed to be essentially precancerous, so a hysterectomy will be scheduled - probably October.

You all are right...FB has killed off a lot of DIS threads. It's great to see friends in "real" life on FB, but I miss the joking around on the DIS, that you just can't do on FB, cause then you have to explain everything to the "normal" people. There are days that I just want to be a Pickle and a Limey and pretend the outside world doesn't exist!

Yup, Heather. FB has taken over but there is no place to chat and be silly like there is here. I didn't realize there had been some posting in this thread. Nice to hear that everyone is alive, well, and busy. Can't ask for more than that.

Kari - rarely hear from you as I know you are crazy busy all the time. I really don't know how you do it. Actually, I was like that once upon a time, and then I crashed and burned! That's awesome that you are planning a trip. Nothing like the exitement of planning a trip for sure! Good for you.

Mary's surgery, as most of you know, was a huge success and he is feeling great. Angioplasty is scheduled for September 3 -- two weeks before our trip.

Kathy... good to hear from you. Seems like you have been through the medical wringer lately. Hopefully things will start to settle down and you can relax and enjoy your trip. Is this the AKL stay? I need to go find your PTR!

Christine... sorry the biopsy results were not what you hoped. But they were better than they could have been. Thank God they caught it early and a surgery can take care of it, and you won't have to deal with chemo and such. Let me know if you need anything... I'm just a couple hours down the road!

I agree Fb is a threadkiller. But sometimes it is hard to find time to come to the thread and catch up. On FB I can get a snippet of everything in a few moments, and then move on. But at least the kids are back to school, and things are settled down for the minute.

Off to try to plan a camping trip. Looking for a campground near Kennedy Space Center for Labor Day weekend. I researched this trip back in April and the troop never acted on it. Now everything is booked. I hate not being in control!

Nice to hear that Mark is doing fine. It must be a relief to be finally rid of the pain. Here's hoping his angioplasty is a breeze and he'll be ready and rarin' to go to Disney. You'll be there on my birthday. Be sure to have a beverage for me at the pool.

I never use spell check. I proofread things at least five times. OCD and all that. It's a curse.

Busy here - just took Paul this AM for an interview for a job at the State liquor store .. I know weird that anyone can work there under 21, but here they allow it - pays well to start $10.90/hr.

Sam started socceer, they lost their first game 6-0 but they did have fun - second game is tonight. Hope for no rain!!

Oh, no no no. Not a soda drinker. I am down from three or four coffees to just one in the morning. Believe me, that was no small feat. The tiredness can't be avoided, (meds) so I just have to deal. I nap here and there. Some days, I miss the entire day, I can conk out that hard. Good thing the dog barks at anything and everything and wakes me up now and then.

I know my fat a** wouldn't be able to get out. I be so twisted up in that thing, they'd need the jaws of life to pry me out.
