Pickle part III

I love me some pina coladas and daiquiries.

A Pina Colada (my favorite) it is.

Oh, no no no. Not a soda drinker. I am down from three or four coffees to just one in the morning. Believe me, that was no small feat. The tiredness can't be avoided, (meds) so I just have to deal. I nap here and there. Some days, I miss the entire day, I can conk out that hard. Good thing the dog barks at anything and everything and wakes me up now and then.

Don't you just LOVE dogs that bark? :rotfl:

:rotfl:

Trac -if you like, I'll start early and have a drink for you, any requests? :goodvibes

Kathy - I too know how hard it is to DIS at work ...

I DIS too much at work (but I just can't get into doing my filing! ;)

Oooh Kat... have a Bahama Mama for me in that hammock of yours! Will you be able to get back out of it after all those drinks? :rotfl:

A Bahama Mama for you, Kari, with pleasure. Honey, I have trouble getting OUT of that hammock WITHOUT having a drink. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Trac - I think a Bahama Mama has rum, oj, pineapple juice, more rum :thumbsup2 and maybe somethin' else but the important part is RUM :goodvibes

I'm with Kat, I'd have trouble getting out of a hammock even without having a drink !!

P.S. I hate the filing too Kat and legal has WAAAY too much of it!!!

What in the world is a bahama mama??

Light and fruity, but will knock you on you @$$ I love the coconut rum in it.

1/2 fluid ounce rum
1/2 fluid ounce coconut-flavored rum
1/2 fluid ounce grenadine syrup
1 fluid ounce orange juice
1 fluid ounce pineapple juice
1 cup crushed ice

I know my fat a** wouldn't be able to get out. I be so twisted up in that thing, they'd need the jaws of life to pry me out.

The easiest thing is to just roll over, and gently roll onto the beach. From there, you just crawl back to your room! :thumbsup2

Gently roll on to the beach? Gently?? How in the world do the drunk and disorderly do that with an ounce of grace? If I'm rolling out of a hammock and onto a beach, you can bet your butt that will be my bed for the night.

Oh and bahama mama... funny thing. I have all of the ingredients here.:rolleyes1

Too funny. Although I'd be with you--sleeping in the sand.

So did you try it out? Do I need to come roll you into your room for the evening? ;)

Yeah, did you try it out? I've not seen her on FB, Kari, so maybe she passed out from trying them. ;)

She'll be sleeping good tonight then, at least!

I read (OK... skimmed!) the first several pages of your PTR. Sorry you aren't doing AKL, but I know you'll be just as happy at CSR. My BFF will be there with her fam from the 19th through the 25th. They requested Ranchos per my recommendation. ;) So the loud redheads you'll see at the pool with 4 kids... never saw them before in my life! :rotfl:

Some day we'll get to AKL. We couldn't swing a savannah view room (especially not knowing what we would have to pay toward's Mark's surgery that insurance didn't cover), and I really want a savannah room. I'm looking forward to trying the Ranchos. Well, tell your friends if they see a Grumpy guy in a hat with a lady giving him weird looks, to say hello.

I know all about worrying over the money. I always feel I would rather go with lesser and have the money for other things. Of course, IMO there is nothing lesser about CSR.

Where do you find your airfare deals? I considered Disneyland, but the resort and tickets are over $2K for a week, and that is not counting food. At this point, the airfare is the nail in the coffin for that trip.

This time we went with Priceline. I was glad to get the great rate, but I'm really ticked off with the airline as they've changed our return flight twice now. It took forever to find a good car rental rate and I'm still not happy with it.

My friend usually does her rental car through priceline, and gets really good deals. I personally never get anything I offer. I tried to get a Myrtle Beach hotel a few months back offering a good bit more than the accepted prices, and got rejected everytime.

Negative on the drinks, I am sad to say. :( I should have tried the bahama mamas though. Several of them. Cassie had a friend sleep over last night and the little varmints were still up after 2am. I was awake for the day at 6am. I feel like a Mac truck ran me over. Think today is going to be a scorcher. With the humidty it was 88 at 6am. The weather this summer has certainly been odd. Maine is having record highs. We are only 3 hours from Maine. It's crazy! Think I might melt on our vacation. Thank goodness for beach and pools. I hope no one harpoons me!!

Yeah, I'm going to try Priceline about ten days before our trip and see what happens. A good friend here on the DIS usually does this at that time and always gets a good deal. We'll see....

God, I HATED those sleepovers. Why are they called sleepovers when NO ONE gets any sleep? Maybe you can have a Bahama Mama today and take a mid-afternoon nap? ;)

It's been a very hot summer here too. Although I don't complain much as it is better than the alternative.

Our weather has been horrid, too. Yesterday it was was right around 100, but the heat index was 113. And rock-down storms in the evenings. I'm no fan of the cold weather, but even I am ready for winter to get here!

Tracy... you're funny! I always worry when I wear a blue swimsuit to the beach. I'm afraid someone will come along and shove me back into the water. :sad2:

I'm getting ready to start my VERY long day. I was up at 6:15 to get Tucker ready and to school by 7:15. Home to get Avery ready and to school by 9:05. Now I need to go to the bank and the grocery, wash laundry, pack Tucker for his camping trip, drop Tucker at scouts at 3:30, home by 4:00 when Avery gets home, karate at 5:00, take Avery to get her school supplies, then cooking for a cookout tomorrow with friends. Wonder what I'll do during my free time today. :confused3

Kari - I will have a drink or two for you as I sit and read on the deck. When I have days like that, I'm in bed by 8pm.

The kids are getting bored right now and driving me nuts. Cass just wants to play video games or on the computer and her friend wants to do anything but. Sigh. Time for the kid to go home, I think. She's a year younger than Cass, a girlie girl, and very immature, which doesn't help because Cass is just the opposite. And I mean opposite!

Calgon take me away!!!

And no, I don't complain about the heat because soon enough we'll be in 7 months of winter. Ugh.

Okay....I need a nap just reading what you are doing today. :scared1:

That's what I'm saying. I HATE winter and would rather deal with 100 with the heat index then 20 below zero and tons of snow. That's why I need to move to Florida ASAP!

7 months of winter.

20 below zero and tons of snow.

I would die! :faint: Our winters are generally in the 30's during the day and teens/low 20s at night. We are lucky if we a 1 good snow... and by that I mean 2-3 inches that stick long enough for the kids to sled a day or 2! We consider it a "hard winter" if a cold snap coming through holds the high in the teens for more than a week or 2! ;)

Good grief. We are so used to the cold. As you know we went to Florida last March and were in the pool and wearing shorts at the parks and the castmembers were bundled up with mitts, scarves and winter coats. Hilarious! Yup, you can spot a Canuck from miles away.
