Happy Birthday, Cassidie!

Sorry I haven't been around my Pickle friends. My boss just came back to the office after having been gone for two months and it has been absolutely crazy here and it won't get better the next couple of days. Add to that the fact that I leave in 8 days (I'm not counting today) for Florida, and I've got so much to do at the office. I promise to check in a couple of times before we leave. Love and miss you all.

(Trying to think of a little trip over my birthday - just a ngt or two with Mia, Sophia and pups -any suggestions? We've thought of DC, the NC Mountains, Beach - not like nE beaches though - or Fl beaches - anyhoo, none of these appeal to me...so what to do??? Yes, I did consider 3 ngts at WDW solo -- but my birthday is November 22 so rates are high then...air fare even higher...so that won't work either. Maybe I have a mind freeze?? lol )

Samantha was well enough to go to school today ~ she was excited and a little nervous (as usual). We went to visit my Mom over the weekend.

Heather, so glad you were able to get most of your ADR's - fingers crossed you can get any times changed in the next few days - Kathy & Trac had fabulous luck (think Janet did as well), so being a Pickle it should come through for you too!!

Why in the world would anyone be up at 3:45 A.M. to make ADR's? Is this what the dining plan has caused? I'll do CS thanks and leave the openings for those who really enjoy a TS.

I certainly wouldn't get up at 3:45 to make Ressies! I think that she just couldn't sleep and decided to try it and it worked. I wish I would have..i laid there and stared at the ceiling for hours that night! I'm still hoping the pickle Mojo rubs off on me...still no luck with Le cellier or a Chef Mickey's dinner...we realized that 10:30 just won't work for us. I've been online every couple of hours looking, as well as calling twice a day. I got all excited when I booked a 6:40 Le Cellier on Dec. 8 and then realized out plane takes off at 7...

I was just aggravated that I couldn't get Yak & Yeti earlier than 1:30; so I cancelled it and made an ADR for the morning we are back in Orlando before our 3:00 p.m. flight. We're going to drive to the Polynesian from International Drive and have breakfast at Kona Cafe. I also have a surprise for Mark...I made a reservation for dinner on the Monday night we drive back to Orlando from Marco Island. We are going to go to Downtown Disney that night rather than going during our time at the parks. I made a ressie for us at Fulton's for dinner. He doesn't know...but I won another $250 on a lotto ticket which I put away for this special dinner for him since he worked all summer umpping baseball games so we could take a vacation.

I'm not sure I could stay offsite, but I know how you feel...at least being offsite you could still go to the parks and "be a kid again".

Mine are just the opposite. I would ask Paul, how was school, he would just say "good", nothing more, even when I asked him direct questions, I would get one word answers!

Now Samantha, well, I get descriptions of everything! Who she sat with at lunch, what they talked about. Who was doing something funny, who got in trouble (usually the boys), what games they played at recess. A Weird thing, today Samantha said one of her BFFs was a little mean to her today (more than once). Kathy, I am going to start sending you $ to buy me lotto tkts!!! Haven't won a dime in years, so stopped buying..but even when I did yrs and yrs ago won $20 twice and that was it! Congrats! (Sometimes I'd buy tkts for the kids to scratch too..Toby won $100 3 times!).

Christine~went shopping last night for sneakers for Samantha (that's where I was heading out to). Of course I didn't do this BEFORE school started. Plus our picture day is tomorrow, so we had to make sure we had something Sam liked to wear. Now, the next problem will be the hair tomorrow!! Clearly I need to take lessons on how to handle curly hair so it doesn't go poofy (she hates that).

BTW, our school district did not strike~ the school board & teachers union are going to enter into nonbinding arbitration so school will continue - yeah!

I think I am going to throw up. Seriously. My husband just let it slip that he may be facing a layoff. Just when I thought life couldn't get any worse for us.

Oh, sweetie....I'm so sorry. I know how hard it was when Mark got his third pay cut...I can't imagine him being laid off. We will keep prayers going that this passes and he won't get laid off.

Oh, Tracy....I am at a loss for words. I wish we could be there for you to give you a hug and an ear to vent...please, please know you can vent as much as needed right here and we will listen.

I can only say as horrible as it might be, you can get through it. I know these words don't help, but it's been as low as it can go in my life at times and we can survive, I promise. And somehow, as bizarre as it seems at the time, the end situation is better than before. I pray that Mark is not laid off, but if so, that it will lead to something better than you could have imagined.
