Picking a Resort

Hi everyone,

Well I guess we will be going back to Orlando next August, so I need to find somewhere to lay our wary bones. I have a list of resorts I would like to know if anyone has stayed there before. And what they actually thought of the places.

Bahama Bay Resort
Clarion Suites Spas at Resort World
Fairfield Star Island Resort
AmeriSuites Vacation Club at Calypso Cay

Any suggestions will be helpful.

I have stayed at Country Inn and Suites at Calypso Cay and it was great for the price. We got a king suite. There was a little room when you walked in that had a hide a bed couch, chair, amour with TV, small table. Then a bathroom and a bedroom with a king size bed and tv. There was a nice free breakfast every morning. There was a large zero degree entry pool with a slide for both Amerisuites and Country Inn with two other smaller pools.

The hotel was fairly new back in 2002 when we stayed there; it was clean and the staff were very accomodating. We have stayed at other Country Inn and Suites elsewhere and have liked all our stays at this franchise. I probably suspect that the Amerisuites offer the same amenities and rooms.

Never heard of it, sorry.

Clarion Suites Spas at Resort World
Haven't been there. The reputation is that it's an older timeshare resort with inconsistent upkeep. Wouldn't be my choice.

Fairfield Star Island Resort
Very nice timeshare resort with a lot of amenities. If you get a 1BR deluxe or larger, with a FULL kitchen, the rooms will be very large and luxurious. The 1BR suites with a partial kitchen are more basic and simple. This would be my first choice among this list for nice resort stay in Kissimmee.

AmeriSuites Vacation Club at Calypso Cay
Haven't been but it has had good feedback on these boards. The rooms seem to be comfortable but not as plush as Star Island. One of the pools is zero-entry and offers a pool-slide, if that matters to you.
