Pick my resort!!!!

So I may be planning a last minute August trip if I get a job next week (for the "I'm Celebrating" occasion of course). I was a stay at home mom for 6 years and it's time to go back to work!!!!

We have been many times and own DVC, but this trip I will be paying for as we have no points. My boys are 6 and 8. The resorts I am thinking of are the WL (We stayed there before and love it), The Poly (which is my dream, but really expensive), and the Contemporary (not so sure it is as kid friendly as I want).

I am leaning towards WL due to price and my kids love of the hotel...but I thought a poll would be fun too. Pick one for me

I would go with either the poly or WL. They are both on my list of possible stays .

I like the WL because of price and how close it is to MK. The poly is a great resort. If you can afford it I would do the poly

I have stayed at all 3 and I love Poly in August. If you were going at Xmas I may say WL but with the summer Poly all the way!

I treated my family to a trip for the same reason back in '07. Finally tried GF!

My kids are dd18 and ds16 and we have stayed at all of your options and at that age ds would choose:
1. WL

2. Poly

3. CR

Keep in mind it is easy to visit each resort too. When we stay at BLT we take boat to WL and walk around, shop and get a snack. Dd and I live on the monorail. Dh and I are happy just to ride around on the boats! So pick one and have fun exploring the others. That way feels like you are staying at them all!

My first choice is the Poly, followed by the WL. We loved our WL stays, but the Poly is just amazing. The rooms are large and spacious, the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the volcano pool is great as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle while swimming, and the beach is great for watching the fireworks at the end of a long day. Good luck .

I think WL has more bang for the buck. My parents always took us to Poly but now that its my paycheck, I go for WL! Love them both.

I would go with either Poly or WL. Have stayed at WL and loved it, but Poly is also on my list some day. Since you have already one WL, I voted Poly this time.

I have always wanted to stay at the Poly, and I finally talked my wife into trying it on our upcoming trip. We thought about WL, but when we showed the kids pics of the resorts they chose Royal Room at POR and Poly as their favorites. So my biased opinion is to splurge and try the Poly - what a great way to celebrate getting back into he workforce!

I am thinking Poly would be a wonderful way to truly celebrate and it isn't a DVC resort (As of yet) so we can't stay there on points. I just hate that it is so pricey. However, I priced it through AAA and it is within the 20% off room rate except for one night. My birthday is on the 15th which is the day that the room discount starts, but I want to get there the day before to celebrate my birthday at the MK .

Hopefully this week will bring me some Disney magic and I get hired. Prior to having my children, just about every school district I applied to called me for an interview....trying to return to the work force in this lousy economy has not brought me the same luck to even get in the door for an interview. Keeping fingers crossed, praying and wishing for pixie dust! I will keep you posted if I get to book it or not!!!

I was just going to post my vote for Poly, but I see you've already chosen it! Really, since you've stayed at WL and own DVC, I think Poly is the perfect choice. You can get a chance to see what it's like pre-DVC. Then someday maybe you can stay there on your points.

I think you made a great choice......you will love the Poly!!! Good luck with the job .

I'm going to say WL just because the theme would apply more to you. But the poly also has a nice theme and a great pool. The CR kinda lacks theme and the pool is nothing special although they would probably think the fact it goes through the monorail to be cool.

Hahaha. I literally had those exact 3 resorts listed to choose from as well. We nixed Polynesian because its just too expensive for right now, so it was really a toss up between the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge. I love the convenience of of the Contemporary, the 5 minute walk to the Magic Kingdom, the monorail... We ended up choosing the Wilderness Lodge for theming and we wanted to stay on the club level, and Wilderness Lodge was the least expensive club level resort out of the 3 I was pricing. We have stayed there 2 other times and love it. We too are DVC owners and this particular trip we are paying out of pocket. Never enough points!!! LOL

Na, when I quoted Poly against Contemporary, Poly was an additional $300-$400 for a 5 night stay. These quotes were for October 2014, so maybe they jumped up from the 2013 rates.
