PI Check-In Day

What all do you do on the first day of your PI? My first day is June 20th, and I know we meet at Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney. Then what?? How many days of training are there usually? My PI is in HR with the Disney Learning Center... I just want to know what to expect. Help!!

I am also checking in on the 20th at PI. When we checked in at Vista for my CP, we just did all of the paperwork and chose our apt for housing and after all of the papers were filled and we got our housing ID pictures taken (and a small meeting about tax papers) we were free to go move into our apts. Around 12:30 we had a housing meeting at Commons (alcohol, overnight guests, etc.). We were then free until the next day and then the next day we had to go back to Vista to fill out some more papers and we chose classes if you took any and found out our work location and job. Our 3rd day was traditions either morning or afternoon session. My day after that I began training at MK right away.

I hope that helps a little bit. I guess it will be less stressful if you are not living in Disney housing. As far as any meetings beyond the PI check-in, I'm not sure. You will get a schedule of events when you check it. It will have the times and locations listed. I know it's a bit confusing right now but it will get better after you get there and breathe!!!

training depends on your job, for the CP i was at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at MK so my training overall until I was on my own was about a week and a 1/2. I had to do outside boutique training before I could be inside w/a trainer.

Depending on your job, will depend on how long you train. You get paid starting day 1 when you check in (i think?), if not then, it will be your first day work which is traditions if you have never had that before

Sooo....I got my PI at the beginning of this week...when do you think I should get an email about when and where arrivals is? I've heard on here and on Facebook that it's at the Adventurer's Club, but I kind of want to hear it from Disney before I show up there!

EDIT: Never mind! I got the arrival email today!

Checking in for a PI is a lot faster then Check-In for the CP. Especially if you aren't staying in Disney Housing. If you aren't you basically go to pick up your maingate pass and name tag. You fill out you I-9 forms and do a background check if you aren't a current cast member. There is some other stuff but no big meetings like they have on your CP. Depending on your PI you might have to go to Access Control. If you are doing a Management Internship you will take a picture and have to be in the Disney Look so be ready for that.
If you are living at North Bridge you will go to North Bridge where they will have a housing meeting, give you your room assignments and keys.
The whole thing takes just a few hours. Your training schedule comes from your work location specifically so you wont have very much info on your job during check-in.
I started my PI a week ago and when I asked if I would still have to attend check in they said "If you want..." So really it's nothing to stress over! It'll be quick and painless!As for training you could possibly have a few classes at DU but you will probably go to your work location the first day or two. The classes vary depending on your job so it's hard to say for sure what yours will be. Being in HR you will probably take a class on My room mate who was in DLC took a tour to all the learning centers, and learned about the hub and registering people for the hub in her DU class.
