Oh, by the way, my family and I had a fun time celebrating St. Patrick's day yesterday. I'm happy to report that the shepherd's pie turned out really well! I'm definitely going to make it again next year. I followed this recipe:

I used ground turkey instead of ground lamb and I mixed some shredded cheddar cheese into the mashed potatoes before I spread it over the meat mixture (I saw several other recipes that called for cheese in the mashed potatoes). I also left out the rosemary. On the side, I served an all-green salad (lettuce, cucumbers and celery). Just for fun, I made some lemonade and put a couple of drops of green food coloring in it. Everyone got a kick out of that. One of the members of my family called it "leprechaun juice". There were some Irish-themed movies on TCM, so we watched one of those. It was fun!

Oooh, can't wait for your PTR! If you need help planning, I still have the itinerary from our last trip. Have you seen the Disney food pictures (aka the food porn thread) on the Restaurant's board? If not, you should definitely check it out. It helped my family and I to choose where we wanted to eat.

Well, the concert is at Giant Center in Hershey, PA. It's right next to the park. The park isn't open yet but Chocolate World is!

Yes, please let us know about your PTR! We'll definitely come along for the ride. As for the Tonga toast, have you considered going to Ohana's instead. A lot of DISers say that they prefer Ohana's over Kona Cafe.

I think Ohana's is only character breakfast. We're not going to be in a huge hurry but we want to be quick since we're boarding the ship that day. I don't think we'll have time for character dining.


Well, almost! I can't stop collecting recipes. I think that it may be an obssession. (OK, fine, it IS an obssession.) Last year, I created a new folder in my email account just for the recipes that I email to myself. The folder currently has a little over 800 recipes. Let's not even get started on all the printed-out recipes, cookbooks and recipe magazines.

Chocolate World is great! They give you a free sample of candy and there's a little ride too, a mini-tour through the factory and it shows you how they make Hershey's chocolate. It's super cute. The smell is intoxicating.

Okay, I need your help. DFiance and I were looking at cakes and colors last night for the wedding. Now, I have my heart set on pink for the color scheme. I found this cake today and it made me wonder a couple of things.. Here's the cake, followed by my questions:

I love this cake! It looks so pretty, sweet and delicious. I don't think that it looks super preppy at all. If it did, I wouldn't like it either.

As for the decorations.......no I don't think that it's too pink. I really like it. If you have any doubts, maybe you should go with a pink that's a little more muted just to be on the safe side.

Rora- I love the cake! It's gorgeous. I really like the black and white one in the top left corner. That'd be perfect for me in the same colors only the flowers would need to be bright pink and Gerber Daisies. Love the rest of it!

I'm taking my Mom for backup. We made it through the Thanksgiving parade in Chicago one year with a broken foot (her not me) so I'm pretty sure we can take the small town crowd getting Twilight! I'm hoping that most people will have gone to Walmart at midnight to get it, so Target won't be all that busy. I'll let you know how it goes. If you don't hear from me after Saturday...be concerned!
