Pi Beta Alpha -- Hand over the purple and no one will get hurt.

Rora- Here are some recipes for you. :goodvibes If you make the mini cheescakes, you can use some canned pie filling for the topping. When I make mini cheesecakes for a party, I like to use blueberry filling on some and cherry or strawberry filling on the other. If you don't have a muffin pan, you can use foil-lined muffin cups (you can just stick them on a baking sheet).

(I decided to include this just in case you still wanted to make a regular-cheesecake. You can make these into mini cheesecakes, too. You'll probably only need to bake them for about 15 minutes or so. You can use the gingersnap crust from the following recipe, or you can just put a Nilla wafer in the bottom of the muffin liner before adding the filling. You may need to add more sugar to both the pumpkin and sweet potato cheesecake fillings. You can leave them plain or garnish them with a dollop of homemade whipped cream and a sprinkle of chopped pecans or a pecan half.)

Hey Jenny!

I hope the day goes by quickly for you! Maybe the time will go faster if you do some planning for your trip. :thumbsup2 I wish that I could stay on the DIS longer, but I've got to get ready to go to work soon. I just wanted to post those cheesecake-y recipes for Rora. I'll be back on later this afternoon. Hopefully, Rora or Honu or Minnie will be on during the day. Have a great day! :goodvibes

Hi Tig!

I'm definitely going to be doing some planning for my trip. I plan to look at a lot of menus today and figuring out which days I'm going to be in which park. I'll probably pick out two options for each day and give the DBf a vote. He probably won't care; he goes along with whatever!

Have a good day!

Hey girls! I posted a couple of times on the orginial thread and just wanted to stop by and say hi:wave2:

Hi disneydiva! Nice to see you again! Please join us whenever you can. We're looking for a few, good sorority members. :grouphug: We've still got space in our sorority house!

Happy trip planning! You can find a lot of good, updated menus on allears.net. :thumbsup2

I hope you have a great day, too! :goodvibes Bye for now! :wave2:

ETA: I almost forgot!!

It's Trivia Thursday!!

Time for more useless and semi-useful info!!

Latin phrase of the week:

Da mihi sis crustum Etruscum cum omnibus in eo.

(I'll have a pizza with everything on it.)

Did you know..........

There is a large brass statue of Winnie-the-Pooh in Lima, Peru.

(I couldn't find a picture of it, so I can't verify this. Several websites mention it, though.)

Ok girls. Here is the tenative schedule. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Sun 9/20 - We'll be staying in Savannah the night of the 19th since we'll be driving down so I'm thinking we'll get to Disney between 12 and 1. We'll probably grab lunch at the Riverside Mill when we check in to POR. Then off to DHS! ADRs at either Primetime or Sci Fi Diner for dinner. Sci Fi has reubens; therefore I am willing to give it another shot. :thumbsup2 Then we'll probably be heading over to MK for a little while if we're not too tired since it looks like they're EMH that day.

Mon 9/21 - Epcot Day! Lunch ADRs at San Angel Inn (a favorite) or Le Cellier, which we have never tried. For dinner, I was thinking of something quick at Sunshine Seasons on the recommendation of Rora or wandering over to the Boardwalk/B&Y Club area and going to Beaches & Cream. Never been there!

Tues 9/22 - The morning/afternoon will be spend at DHS to hit anything we missed on our first day. We'll be having lunch there at either Mama Melrose or Hollywood Brown Derby. Then it's off to MK for MNSSHP, which admits people at 4pm. For dinner, we'll probably just do a CS - either Peco's Bills or Cosmic Ray's.

Wed 9/23 - AK Day! So here, I was thinking of maybe doing a character breakfast at the Tusker House. Donald is one of my favorite character's (DBf's too) so I think it'd be fun. If we do the breakfast, lunch will be CS. Any suggestions? Failing that, we'll do lunch either at Tusker House or Yak & Yeti. For dinner that night, I was thinking Ohana's (I've never been, can you believe it?), Hoop Dee Doo Review, or T-Rex Cafe. DBf and I went there last trip and loved it!

Thurs 9/24 - Boarding the ship day! Since we're driving, we'll drive over to the Poly and have breakfast at Kona Cafe so DBf can try the Tonga Toast. Then we'll head to the port!

9/24-9/27 - On the Wonder! Dining is taken care of! :) Rest and relaxation is well deserved after this crazy schedule!

Sun 9/27 - After breakfast on the ship & debarkation, we'll head over to ASMo to check in. Then we'll be heading to Epcot again to check out the F&W Festival. We'll be having lunch at whatever restaurant didn't get picked for the first Epcot day (Le Cellier or San Angel Inn) and dinner will be taken care of by the carts of the F&W Festival! I'm sure we'll be snacking all day.

Mon 9/28 - Universal Day! We always have lunch or dinner at Margaritaville. It's a ritual. Since Universal closes early, we'll probably do a Disney park at night. Probably whichever has EMH that night.

Tues 9/29 - This is only if I get the two free tickets (TA perk) from Disney. We'll be heading back to MK, we always go here before we leave. We re-ride the favorites before we go. I was thinking about maybe doing Crystal Palace for breakfast but since we're driving all the way home that day...I don't know how I feel about dragging myself out of bed for that. If not, we'll get breakfast at ASMo and lunch at Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's. Then we'll make the drive back to NJ, with a stop over somewhere in NC or VA. If I don't get the free tickets, we'll be leaving straight away and Monday night will be spent at MK.

I want to squeeze in some pool time at POR and maybe a couple hours at Blizzard Beach (the free tickets would have the water park option on them). Where do you think that would fit in?? I was thinking of hanging by the pool during the down time between AK and dinner that night. I'd probably make it a late dinner, between 7 and 8.

Anytime I didn't mention breakfast means we'll be having it at the hotel!

Other than that: How's it lookin??

Really? That's interesting. I wonder why that is.

:lmao: Recipe Queen! I like it! It sounds a lot better than Obssessive Recipe Collector. :rotfl: Changing tag!!!
Love it!! :thumbsup2

By the way, I changed the thread title to "Unapologetically Purple". I think that I may change it again to read "Hand over the purple and no one will get hurt." What do you think?
Either are funny but I think I like Hand over the purple..

Yes, we've definitely got to take a virtual trip there! I want to go there for real someday. :goodvibes
OMG. Let's go! A real trip. That would be fantastic!! :woohoo:

I love this cake! It looks so pretty, sweet and delicious. I don't think that it looks super preppy at all. If it did, I wouldn't like it either.

As for the decorations.......no I don't think that it's too pink. I really like it. If you have any doubts, maybe you should go with a pink that's a little more muted just to be on the safe side.
Thank you!! I love love love the cake but I think I want to go like half a shade lighter with the pink... Can you imagine me explaining this to people?

Rora- I love the cake! It's gorgeous. I really like the black and white one in the top left corner. That'd be perfect for me in the same colors only the flowers would need to be bright pink and Gerber Daisies. Love the rest of it!
Thanks! I loved that cake too.. That baker is fantastic! But her cakes are pricey! Oh well, only get married once, right? :rolleyes1
Hi Tig!! I've still been a good girl, and haven't cheated and peeked at the Twilight leaks online. I'm anxiously awaiting Saturday morning where I will be at my local Target when it opens to bust down the doors and get their exclusive 3 disc set. Wish me luck, I'm taking a bat just in case!
YAY!! I'm so excited for you!! 3 disc set? That's crazy! Let us know how it goes- I bet there will be madness! :yay:

Hey everyone! Just stopping by for a quick hello. I haven't had internet for the last few days so it's been killing me. We're off to Texas bright and early in the morning so hopefully I'll chat with y'all from there. Anyway, hope y'all are doing good.
We've missed you!!!

If I don't talk to you before you leve, I hope everything goes really really well! Everything will be perfect and you'll have a fabulous surprise waiting for you when you get home here on the UC-- like men, cake and purple!! :rotfl2:
Rora - I really like that cake! I think you should go with it. I don't think it's too pink. And it's better to have bright pink than pepto pink!
Thanks, Jenny! You are so right about pepto pink- I will have to be careful! :headache:
I just gotta get through this day girls and then I have a fun-filled 4 day weekend ahead of me!!
You must be so so excited!!! I'm going to see Legally Blonde tomorrow and I know I'm pumped!! :cool1:
Hey girls! I posted a couple of times on the orginial thread and just wanted to stop by and say hi

I'm going to need a vacation from my vacation.

Hey Jenny! Wow! You've got a schedule already!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Ok girls. Here is the tenative schedule. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Sun 9/20 - We'll be staying in Savannah the night of the 19th since we'll be driving down so I'm thinking we'll get to Disney between 12 and 1. I think that you should try Prime Time since you haven't been there before. It's always fun to try someplace new.

Ooooh, you should definitely try Le Cellier. How about going to Le Cellier for lunch (it's cheaper at lunch) and San Angel Inn for dinner? I've heard that Beaches and Cream has awesome sundaes and stuff, so maybe you can go there for dessert.

Hmmm......maybe you should go with Mama Melrose. Honu said that she really wasn't impressed by the food at the Brown Derby. Other DISers have said the same thing. Mama Melrose had more favorable reviews.

I'm sure you'll have a great time at Tusker House. The food looks so good there. You should definitely try Flame Tree Barbecue (counter service). I really loved their pulled pork sandwiches. As for dinner........hmmmm....that's a tough one. I've heard good things about all of those places, so I don't know which one would be better. Maybe you can ask people which place they prefer on the restaurants board (a poll, perhaps?).

Thurs 9/24 - Boarding the ship day! Since we're driving, we'll drive over to the Poly and have breakfast at Kona Cafe so DBf can try the Tonga Toast. Then we'll head to the port!

Woohooo! Ship and Tonga Toast day! :cool1:

9/24-9/27 - On the Wonder! Dining is taken care of! :) Rest and relaxation is well deserved after this crazy schedule!

I'm glad you scheduled a day of relaxation. Very smart! :thumbsup2

You know what? You may not even need to have lunch or dinner at all on your F&W day. Like I said, my family and I only ate at the food booths and we didn't need to have lunch or dinner. Of course, that all depends on how much you like the food. Check out the food booth menus when they become available. If you don't really see anything you like, then go ahead and make your ADRs. You can always get something to eat at Sunshine Seasons or the Tangierine Cafe (both are CS).

Mon 9/28 - Universal Day! We always have lunch or dinner at Margaritaville. It's a ritual. Since Universal closes early, we'll probably do a Disney park at night. Probably whichever has EMH that night.

Universal????!!! :faint: :rotfl: Just kidding. Sounds good!

If I don't get the free tickets, we'll be leaving straight away and Monday night will be spent at MK.

The Crystal Palace would be great, but I think that you should just sleep in and take it easy that day.

Well, I know that you really want to go to Universal Studios, but would you consider going to Blizzard Beach instead? If you don't want to break tradition, maybe you can head over to Blizzard Beach or the hotel pool on your F&W day.

Really? That's interesting. I wonder why that is.

:confused3 I'm still trying to find that out.

OMG. Let's go! A real trip. That would be fantastic!!

Woohoo! Let's go!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!! I love love love the cake but I think I want to go like half a shade lighter with the pink... Can you imagine me explaining this to people?

You're welcome! Don't worry about explaining anything to anyone. It's YOUR day. You can do as you please! :thumbsup2

You must be so so excited!!! I'm going to see Legally Blonde tomorrow and I know I'm pumped!! :cool1:

How exciting!! :woohoo: Please tell us all about it afterwards. Have fun!

Tigger, you are so so so fantastic!!!!! Thank you, Recipe Queen!!!!

You're welcome! :goodvibes Did you decide which one you're going to make? Let me know if you want some more recipes that are a bit more special-occasion-ish. (There I go again with those -ishes!)

That's so.. strange. Why? :confused3 :rotfl2: I want to see it! Please post if anyone finds it!!!

I'm still trying to find a picture. I can't believe that I haven't seen one yet!

It's been a slow day so I've had LOTS of time to work on it. It's made the day go by quicker!

I think that you should try Prime Time since you haven't been there before. It's always fun to try someplace new.

I've actually been to Primetime once before. I loved the fried chicken! I'm leaning more toward that one!!

Ooooh, you should definitely try Le Cellier. How about going to Le Cellier for lunch (it's cheaper at lunch) and San Angel Inn for dinner? I've heard that Beaches and Cream has awesome sundaes and stuff, so maybe you can go there for dessert.

I definitely want to try Le Cellier. My DBf absolutely loves San Angel though. I would do both ADRs in one day but I don't want to take up a lot of time in the restaurants. That's why I was thinking of doing one this day and one the second day in Epcot. If we don't do San Angel Inn at all, there's always the Cantina CS across the way. Their food is just as good!

Hmmm......maybe you should go with Mama Melrose. Honu said that she really wasn't impressed by the food at the Brown Derby. Other DISers have said the same thing. Mama Melrose had more favorable reviews.

Good to know. :thumbsup2 Brown Derby is pricey too! I wouldn't want to be disappointed.

I'm sure you'll have a great time at Tusker House. The food looks so good there. You should definitely try Flame Tree Barbecue (counter service). I really loved their pulled pork sandwiches. Maybe you can ask people which place they prefer on the restaurants board (a poll, perhaps?).

I've never been to the Tusker House but I've read reviews on here and peopel rave about it. Since we've been to T-Rex, that's kind of the last choice for me. I'd rather do Ohana or Hoop Dee Doo since both look great and look like a lot of fun. Maybe I will do a poll!

Woohooo! Ship and Tonga Toast day!

I'm glad you scheduled a day of relaxation. Very smart!

Yes! We're going to need relaxing after all the running around we're doing. The Nassau day will be a BIG help. I don't plan on getting off the ship that day!

You know what? You may not even need to have lunch or dinner at all on your F&W day. Like I said, my family and I only ate at the food booths and we didn't need to have lunch or dinner. You can always get something to eat at Sunshine Seasons or the Tangierine Cafe (both are CS).

I looked at last years food booth options and saw a few things I'd like to try. You're right, we may not even need ADRs that day. My DBf is like a bottomless pit though so this one will be up to him! :rotfl:

Universal????!!! Just kidding. Sounds good!

How dare I? :scared1:

The Crystal Palace would be great, but I think that you should just sleep in and take it easy that day.

That's what I'm thinking too. If we do a character breakfast (never done one!) it would be the AK day.

Well, I know that you really want to go to Universal Studios, but would you consider going to Blizzard Beach instead? If you don't want to break tradition, maybe you can head over to Blizzard Beach or the hotel pool on your F&W day

I was thinking of doing BB before F&W. I don't want to skip Universal because they opened up a new rollercoaster I want to ride and I love it there too. Just not as much as Disney ;)

Thanks for your input!!!

Stop having a boring tuna, stop having a boring life!

That sounds good! You can do BB in the morning and spend the afternoon and evening at F&W.

What is the new rollercoaster at Universal? Has the new attraction with The Rock opened yet?

I forgot to quote this one.

Just to let you know, the food booth menus change every year. I don't know when the new food booth menu will be up. Hopefully it will be up before you have to make your ADRs! Well, you can always go to Sunshine Season, the Tangierine Cafe, or one of the other CS places.

It's called Rip, Ride, and RockIt. The hill goes straight up, 90 degrees and it's two across, stadium seating style. You pick from pop, classic rock, metal, country, disco, and hip hop and your choice of music blasts from speakers in the headrests. The Universal rep showed us a video of it and it looks ridiculous! I can't wait to try it out. It's opening in May.

Yes, that attraction has been open. It's the Earthquake attraction. They refurbished it and now it's called Disaster! A Major Motion Picture Starring You. It's great! :thumbsup2

Ok, thanks! I wasn't aware they changed every year. I can't make my ADRs til the end of June so I'm hoping it will be before then! If not, no biggie. I can always cancel if I need/want to.

You're welcome! Yup, the menus are always changing. It's good that they do that, but I sometimes wish that they wouldn't. There were quite a few dishes that I really liked from the 2007 menu that were not on the 2008 menu.

That's true. You can always cancel your ADRs.

Hey, only half an hour left for you!! :woohoo: :cool1:

I know!!! And it's crawling by! I'm hoping no one comes in for anything so I don't get stuck here later than I have to be :rotfl:

Nope, just for the night. Sunday we're having a family party for my Grandma's birthday and Monday night the DBf & I are taking my mom and grandma to Maggiano's for her birthday dinner.

Any plans for you?

Oh, that's right. I forgot about your grandma's birthday. Have fun! I've heard of Maggiano's but I've never been there. What do you like to eat there?

As for me, I need to return a couple of items at the mall and pick up a present. We're going to a birthday party at a friend's house. I also want to finish doing those sorority signature pictures. I didn't have much time last weekend. I'll PM them to all of you when I'm done. Yes, that's right, I said all of them. I wanted to give you an assortment. A girl's gotta have options, right? :rotfl:

We always get the family style option. You pick 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts. It's awesome! So much food.

Have fun at the birthday party! I'll be on the look out for your PM.

Don't post too much while I'm gone girls! See you all Tuesday!

WOOOHOOOO!!!! You're 4-day weekend has officially arrived!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :cool1:  :cheer2: :dance3: Have a great time at the concert and have a nice, relaxing weekend. You deserve it! Say hi to NKOTB for me. Oh, and eat lots of chocolate at Chocolate World!!!!

Bye for now! :wave2:

The boys said to tell you that they can't wait to see you again. ;)
