Photos of Scrapbooking room/area please post

Great rooms everyone. I have a room, but it is just framed at the moment and in our basement. Cement floor, lots of spiders and cob webs. I vaccum in there often. DH has been slowly trying to finish our basement but needs to find someone to help with the ceiling. He told me the other night he was thinking of hiring someone to do it. If that happens I will have to move everything, which is OK. It will take me and DD a couple hours, but it will be worth it. Oh, I do have a carpet remnant and a portable heater so it's not so bad.

Oh Robin, I love all the natural light you get. Nice wall color, how does it work when you are doing layouts? I've been scared of putting color on wall because I've always heard the color can reflect off your work.

Every one has such great spaces. You all seem (from looking at picture) to have organized you items well. I need one of you to come to my house and help me. My room was created quickly and I had to just throw stuff where it would fit and just never got around to putting things in "order".

Beautiful room Robin!! I love how you used the knee wall for the bookcases and the Scrap Rack fits nicely up under there.

Lisa, I saw your room the other day, It's cute! And it's way better then my space!

Wow, everyone has such beautiful work spaces/rooms. I guess I won't say that mine is merely a large tote bag and the handy carrier I got as a gift from Michael's. My space (small corner in the "semi-finished basement) is all devoted to my quilting, since I only just started scrapping hobby about a month ago.

Robin, your room is beautiful! I love the curved top window!

Those of you without a "dedicated" space.... remember, it is about preserving the memories, not the fancy space! I probably got MORE scrapping done when my work space was a card table and all of my supplies fit in a milk crate!.....................P

Nice spaces everyone! These are the pics from when I posted mine, when I got it set up in CO. I have changed a few things, but it's mostly the same.

This is what has changed. We have two of these shelves, in the room. I moved my stuff from one shelf to the other, and now it takes up 3 shelves instead of 2. The third shelf is more photo storage boxes, and the big snapware container from the previous picture.

I was worried about color reflection, too. But I didn't want plain white walls. My original choice for wall color was Tinkerbell green, but at the last minute changed my mind because of the potential yellow "glow". During the day with all the natural light I don't see any problems. At night I use my Ott Light a lot. And next time I need the ceiling bulbs changed in the room I'll be putting in some that give off a more "natural" glow.

That being said, I don't get much chance to use my room these days. I look at it longingly, but the kids give me fits if I close the doors to keep them out to get a little scrapping done while they play. Even though they can see me through the doors they (or rather the baby) stands there screaming.

Robin what a beautiful room! Holy Cow. I can only dream of having one that nice! thanks for sharing the pics with us! i just love the color of the walls.

We move around a lot for work...at the last apartment I had to scrap at the kitchen table and kept all my supplies in the spare bedroom closet, which was kind of annoying. At the new apartment we moved into about a month ago we have a loft and dh got me a table and chair for up there so that is my scrapping space and I couldnt' be more delighted. I still can't have everything out due to lack of places to put it since I won't buy a lot of storage stuff b/c we move often, but I have stuff pretty organized in my closet up there so I think I'm good to go. I just need to start scrapping again. I'll post a pic, but its not much.

thats my table...I haven't scrapped at all yet so I haven't bothered to take the chair up.

you can't see it, but there is a plastic three drawer tote in there too...just one of the small 12x12 ones that houses the mass of my things, but also in all those little boxes are all sorts of things. It dosen't look like much, but I have more than I know what to do with and dh has even gone as far as to cut me off from buying anymore, which never works. :rotfl2: I love everyones rooms so awesome! I can't wait to stop moving around so much and have a permeant space to decorate and scrap in:) Thanks everyone who has shared their spaces.

Robin, I use the GE Reveal lightbulbs through out the whole house and I love them! Everything looks correct colorwise day and night.

Hi Robin! :wave2:

Here's my room. This was taken a few months after we moved in. It's definitely more "lived in" now. :rotfl:

Finally had time to take some photos of my workstation in it's temporary home in the livingroom.

I designed my setup to use as much existing furniture as possible, so the only added cost was a sheet of birch faced plywood and a strip of 1 inch wide molding. I took the layout of the pieces to home Depot when I bought my plywood, and they cut them for me on their big saw, which facilitated moving it - much easier than lugging a 4x8 sheet.

My husband assembled the top with screws and nails, and put the finish on it. If I had it to do over, I might have put laminate on the top.

Here's the overview:

The black cabinets holding up the top are from IKEA and formerly held stereo components. As the audio system grew smaller with changing technology, they were not needed. When we move, they disassemble to a stack of flat pieces.

The left end:

The small drawer units hold punches, adhesives, colored pencils, etc. The striped boxes hold current projects (a christmas cookbook is in one, explaining the cookie books there.) The little red tool box holds my tool kit in the top, and brads, eyelets, buttons and glitter in lower sections.

The right end:

Top shelf - shoe boxes full of rubber stamps, card parts, die cuts and larger embellis, the cardboard boxes contain large scraps and 8 1/2 x 11 paper. middle shelf, same shoe boxes (they change places regularly) and pizza boxes of page protectors, and sheet stickers sorted by letters & words, and other. Not pretty but inexpensive, and it works. Bottom shelf - rarely used fiskars rotary cutter

Center sections, Left to right

Computer and most used pens

cutters and 18 inch steel ruler.

More pens, paint, and rolled ribbon

Underneath, a repurposed file cart holds Cropperhopper paper folders.

They're a pain because they don't stand up well, so I put bungy cords on both ends to provide firm holding power, and packed them in tight. They're sorted ROYGBIV, new collections, and Disney.

On the end is more ribbon storage, and a papertaker holding my CM cutting system.

The top is my cutting station, because it's lower than the worktop. (and recognize the top? It's a spare shelf from one of the end units!)

Finally, left of the workstation is a book case, another IKEA piece repurposed from another room when we downsized the library. The shelves hold stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else.

Top, photo packets and cricut carts. Middle, punches, stamps xyron, software & font cds. Bottom cricut mats, magazines & books, idea folders.

Today or tomorrow, we'll be taking it apart and moving it back into the kitchen, now that the renovation is complete. It's cozy and convenient in there, and there's a tv for the long dark evenings. I think in the spring, though, I'll move back to the livingroom, which we really use only at Christmas. The livingroom is cooler and I have more space. Either way, it's easy to move and takes about an hour until it's ready to work on again!

Thanks for visiting my space!

A girl after my own heart. Reusing all the stuff that would normally have ended up in the trash can. Everything is so organized & has a place. I could totally work in a space like this. And the fact your paper is in ROYGBIV made me laugh b/c that's how I do mine too.

I don't have a room for scrapbooking. I tried it in the basement, but I didn't like being away from the rest of the family. My work area is my diningroom table. I have the leaf in so it is a good size. I can set up my laptop and expression and still have plenty of workspace. It also works for me because it forces me to be organized. I can't leave anything out. It has to go away in its correct spot or it just won't fit. In the basement my room was a mess becasue I would just walk away from it thinking I would get to it later. The other advantage is since it is well organized and in the main part of the house, it is much easier for me to work on something when I have just a few minutes. One of the drawers pulls out and is just for work in progress. I have a small TV in the room too and often DH will hang out with me while I work.

Not everything fits here. I have another cabinet in the room for paper and in the basement I keep things I don't use often. This is a PAX closet from IKEA. I think the whole thing was well under $500. I have had it for a year now -- all the open spaces have been filled. I really like it. I hang up the kids art projects on the outside.

OMG !!!! This election has been going on forever!! That's McCain on the TV in this old photo.

Love the sectioned drawers, Susan! I'd like to replace my plastic drawer units with those - they'd hold ever so much more and be more sturdy too.

I just love that cabinet from IKEA. I also envy all the natural light in pjilla's room. What a beautiful space.

123sa I love how you can see everything you have, even the stuff in drawers. Very neat.
