I was wondering if you guys could tell me any advantages and disadvantages of getting the pre paid photopass.

We are going for 28 days so my initial thought was that we should be able to get quite a lot of use out of this, but i read on a photopass link that the photographers are more scarse now than before. The article however doesn't say when it was written or when it was compared to so now i'm not so sure.

I would also like to know about any of the perks etc of using this e.g magic photos, where and who etc.

Thank-you x

This should give you all the information you need :thumbsup2

We pre-paid last time we went and found it a great move. After getting home and adding borders, cropping etc we nearly doubled the amount of photos we started with. All parks had the photographers and we got lots of the ones with special effects on them. If in any doubt as to what they do in which parks just go to a PP photographer and ask.

I'm with Kenny on this one. I pre-paid last time for our October trip. I can't think of any disadvantages, but the advantages are:

  1. Best discount for the product. They don't give better than a $50 discount
  2. Because I had pre-paid, we worked much harder at keeping our eyes open for photographers
  3. Occasionally we mentioned to photographers or they asked if we planned to order the CD and when they knew we had already ordered they would take more shots
  4. We got 400 and something photos before editing - with borders added there were 2000. We have never had so many before and I put this down to the fact that we were more enthusiastic about making the most of it, since technically speaking, we already owned the CD.
  5. If you are really unhappy and decide you don't want to order it when you get home, just don't check out with it, but contact them and you can cancel for a refund.

We pre paid for the cd and I have to say we did struggle this trip to find Photopass photographers. We put that down to the fact it was sooooo cold though - the ones we did find were lovely but almost all were with a charcter rather than just positioned for a good photo.

I am still happy that I pre purchased though as the photos we did get were amazing !!

I was just checking the price of the photopass CD, which is $149.95. Do you then have to pay delivery aswell?

thanks

That's the full price. The pre-order price is $99. Yes, delivery is $10.95 regardless of how many discs your photos need.

we prepaid for our Oct 2010 trip and we found the photographers easily. Also if you mention that you have prepaid most photgraphers will take a lot of shots for you. Our best one was at the entrance to Epcot, we had our own private photoshoot, the lady took about 75 photos of us in total, some just the kids, some all together, individual as well as the magic shots. Was worth it for that alone.

As you are going for 28 days, lucky thing:rotfl:, you should be able to make plenty use of it

its not just the parks that had PP photographers we were were ready to go out at AKL every night for our meals all dressed up, they were all set up in the lobby,
Know this is done at all the de-luxes,you don't have to staying there to use as well.
For us was great deal as 3 family's and linked cards to one account so made cost cheaper

Thanks for the info. How do I pre order one, I can only seem to find the full amount?

Yes we did the $99 pre pay and I feel it was worth it. DD met alot of characters and there was a photopass person with each one.

We also got our DD's photos taken after BBB and added to the photocard and also added the photos taken at akershus.

Over 28 days i'm sure you would get value from it.

I agree once photographers know you have pre paid they will take more shots. Also ask for the magic shots.

Only place we didn't see a photographer was at the waterparks, thought there should have been one when you go in.

Odd, we spent 2 days at TL. Had only done BB before and there were always PP photographers around there but none in sight on either day on this last trip.

No they definitely were not at the entrance to either water park and I didn't see any around the waterparks either. I did look as one day we didn't have a camera with us. Maybe because it was not peak season - was october, a saturday and a thursday.

We did a Saturday and a Monday. We did check the entrance but I had a camera with me so I took photos

At BB we found the around the park too, but then we would go during Easter week so maybe that was the difference.

Which ride photos can you have added to your photopass? Also are there any character meals where there are photo pass photographers?

Thanks

Only Test Track. YOu can add it to SPace Mountain too but you have to buy the photo first (I think).

Character meals dont have photographers going around the tables but some of them do a photo first and then they bring the picture package to your table and you can buy it. It costs about $30 plus tax. If you buy it there is a code on the photo and you can use this code to have it added to your PP card, but it's not free. I know Ohana and Chef Mickey does them. CRT takes the pics which are included in the price of the meal and these can also be added to your PP account.
