Hi gang... booked on wonder 4 night on feb 14... Do they do photopass like they do at the parks?

thanks

John

No. You can purchase a CD of all of your photos, or you can purchase individual prints. They use facial identification software AND your KTTW card to determine which photos belong on your CD.

If you are traveling with a group, have the whole gang do the embarkation photo together. That's the one they use for the facial recognition.

The price of the photo cd on the 4 day cruise is $299.95.

Thanks for the Quick responses! and how many photos are on this CD? are there photographers everywhere?

and how much are individual pics?

thanks

John

Individual photos are $9.95 for 6X8, $19.95 for 8X10. THere are as many photos on the CD as you have taken and can be tied to you either thru submitting your KTTW when the photo is done or using their facial recognition software. People have been known to have several hundred photos on their CD! But they were trying hard.

There are photogs all over.

With the CD, you can get as many pictures on it as you have taken. I think on the 4day last week they said there were 46 or 47 different photo opportunities available. We ended up with 100 pictures from our 4 day cruise last week. And they put all the pictures on it, even the ones with your eyes closed, etc.

Unlike PhotoPass at the parks, you can't get any of the borders on the pictures on the CD. But if there are borders you really want (to have a picture that says the cruise name, date, or to get the special borders from the different characters and princesses, etc, after you buy the CD, you can purchase any picture or photo package at 50% of what they're selling it to the folks who don't buy the CD.

So, if your whole group is in the embark photo.....think they'll end up on the Cd where you could split it with them?

Do you get to see a general idea of what photos are on the CD before you buy it?

Generally yes. When you purchase the CD, they'll ask for a reference photo. On our December cruise, we had a friend of ours in our embarkation photo with us. All of her photos ended up on our CD. I think when you purchase the CD they may ask how many staterooms, or which staterooms are included in the photo, but that could vary by the person taking the order.

Shutters still prints most of the pictures so you can view them and consider purchasing them with the included borders. You can view the photos via one of the photo kiosks by using the KTTW card of anyone in the room associated with the CD. (But if you lose your KTTW and get a new one printed, then you will lose all access to the kiosk though your photos will still be accumulated.) You will see the photos appear in your account as soon as the photographer has completed their session, which is before they even print them for viewing. It's a good idea to check periodically just to make sure all of your pictures are on there, especially the ones that rely on facial recognition for the match. For example, my daughter did some "tinkerbell" shots in a shoot where I'd lost my KTTW card. Because she wasn't looking up in the pictures, they couldn't do a match via facial recognition, and the pictures didn't end up on my CD. (They did send them to me later.)

You order the CD at any point in the cruise (though good to order it early since you get a discount on other prints if you want any), and then you pick it up in Shutters at 7am the day you get off the ship. They do a manual review during the CD production to weed out any extra folks who may have ended up in your account (we had two boys who ended up with a couple of pictures in our account but they weren't on the CD when it was produced.)

Does anyone know the cost for a 7 day? (doing a 10 day Med - so figured that would be closer to what I should consider budgeting)

Would they allow our friends to be on the CD with us? As long as our rooms are linked will we be able to get our photos on the CD together? With our kids together much of the time I figured they would have a lot of pictures together.

You should take an embarkation photo with the friends who are linked with you that you want to be on the CD with you (you can take one without them as well if desired). Then choose that photo of all of you as the baseline reference photo when you purchase the CD (they store a reference photo with the CD order for facial recognition and to make sure that other people don't end up on your CD in the end.) They'll also ask you how many staterooms in your group and you can tell them the different stateroom numbers.

We did that and our friend's photos were on our CD without any problems, including times where she had her picture taken without us, or when using her card.

So can you get 2 identical CDs for a little extra? Or is it just $400 for each CD no matter what?

Couple questions...

How good is the facial recognition? We would have 8 kids 4 and under, including babies.

Does it pick pictures based also on the KTTK? Can it do it based on more than one KTTK?

we found that the facial recognition was just OK. We have a 5 year old that tons of others looked similar too... Same basic size, long blond hair, etc. However, it was easy to remove them at the kiosk. We dind't do this until the end last time - so on this next trip if I don't have a coronary over the price I will keep up as we go...

Speaking of coronary and price... Anyone know how much the CD is on a 14 day cruise?

So Sue---was the CD worth it to you? I am hoping that I can get a great family pic and take it to get a large print. How good is the pixel quality? I was hoping to save us money versus doing something in a studio at home. Opinions?
