PhotoPass?

I, too, wonder why so much?!?!!?!??! :confused3 Why not just do it like they do at the parks? We may be skipping this add on. Very disappointing. I agree that I could practically bring my own photographer for that cost!!:rotfl:

So Sue---was the CD worth it to you? I am hoping that I can get a great family pic and take it to get a large print. How good is the pixel quality? I was hoping to save us money versus doing something in a studio at home. Opinions?

We had over 100 photos on it, and i have framed quite a few. I wish we had done the photo shoot ones... The best thing was being able to email them everywhere! Plus, I do my scrap books digitally and then have them printed, so it made that very easy..

Would I do it again - well, if the price isn't too awful on the 14 day, then yep, I will. If the price is way too outrageous, then we will just hand the camera to the photographer and let them take the pictures on that.

I got one at the parks as well - and I seem to remember paying about the same price for it. The thing that I find myself wishing I had were the borders. We were at the parks for MNSSHP and could add whatever borders I wanted. Now, if they would add that to the DCL version, I would never buy another printed photo!

We prepaid for the CD before we left and got it for 99.99 or thereabouts. No way I paid 300.00 for it. AND, we got tons of pictures and borders.

When were you there? I could have sworn ours was more... Either way...

I guess the value of it all depends on how many pictures you are going to want, and if you wnat the borders or not...

Was that for WDW or the cruise?

Sayhello

My frustration with the preprinted ones is the size. With the borders they are cute but at a 6X8 size I can't find frames. I still have pics sitting here that aren't framed because of the odd size. I'm thinking with the CD I could print out what I wanted at the size I wanted and/or use online and email. Just dreaming about it.....

I think that other poster is talking abouta WDW CD that she prepaid for $99.

I'm hoping with the new ships they have some new technology available to make it more like the photopass program at the park. Only time will tell!

I've found 6x8 frames at Target and Michael's.

Did you preorder your photopass cd from WDW before your trip? I know for WDW you can preorder your cd, but have not seen anything from DCL about being able to preorder a photo cd.

So for those that have done the CD with friends....do we need to make sure our staterooms are linked? Do we just tell them when we board that we are purchasing the CD when we get our boarding pic? We want to be prepared to get every picture!

This applies to the Photopass CD you get from the parks, but the CD on the cruise ship isn't true Photopass and operates under different rules and pricing. No borders on the CD pictures, no website access, no discounts on the CD (that we've seen so far), though you do get discounts on prints you purchase after you've purchased the CD.

We had our staterooms linked before we got on the ship, so don't know if that helped or not since we had no experience not being linked.

You don't tell them when you board that you're buying the CD. You purchase the CD at Shutters, and they will ask for a reference picture (usually the embarkation photo) of the folks to be included on the CD. When we bought ours, they also asked if there was one or multiple staterooms included. We just made sure that our friends were included in am embarkation photo with us.
