Just got back last night after 6 wonderful days at Walt's Park and have a PhotoPass tip to share.

I found out that you cannot pre-order a CD for DLR from the PhotoPass website at a discounted price.

If you buy the $79 CD at DLR, the only chance you get to edit is at the PhotoPass store in the park right before ordering.

HTH!

I found out that you cannot pre-order a CD for DLR for $79 from the PhotoPass website. You can do the regular pre-order for $99. This is the only way to edit the photos online, as well as combine multiple cards and add borders or enhancements.

As far as I have heard, you can order the $79 CD AFTER you get home, from the website, and make all of the edits you wish to. It is sent to you with all those edits, at home, for the 79 plus shipping.

The $99 pre order price is for WDW pictures now (124.99 buying it online after the fact). The $79 price is for DLR after the fact.

Though did you notice in the photo centers that JUST the CD is 79?

And wait, are you saying they are allowing editing now IN the parks? Is this what you did? Because when I was there last in late January, the only CD available to take home from the parks was $59, with NO edits (though the price of that CD plus two 5x7 prints was 74.99), they did not allow editing at the photo centers.

The first part was just about pre-ordering prices only. The kiddo was bugging me and I just saw that what I wrote didn't make as much sense as I wanted it to. I was really just trying to stress not to pre-order the CD :)

I didn't order the CD in the park, I wanted time at home to edit. But there were families ordering the CD in park and having the PP guy make the edits and enhancements there. I got stuck in line behind one of these...

I think one of the biggest problems with the whole PP thing is that if you ask 5 different people the same question, you'll get 5 distinctly different answers. And if you email PP and ask the same question, theres another answer. Very confusing.

I have a PP share that I'm getting ready to order. We were at DL 4/24-28 (Girls' Trip) and have 11 people sharing. We've all done our edits and it is $79.95 + $5 shipping. We are over 600 pictures so I'm thinking it will be 3 CDs. A previous share I was part of had 500+ pictures and there were 300 pics on the first CD and the remaining on the 2nd CD. I had looked at the pre-order but then found out it was less to wait until we got home. We've all had access to all of the different editing options: borders, cropping, added characters, etc.

Yup... like I said above, the main point I was trying to make was not to pre-order the CD. I just said it poorly.

Whether you pre-order or not, you will still get to edit them at home. It's just cheaper for a DL Photopass then a WDW Photopass.

I am utterly confused. I had read this thread a while back and understood that you could pre-order the CD for $99.95 from the Photopass website. Are Disneyland guests not able to pre-order and edit at home? :confused3

You're not the only one! I was so confuddled before my trip...

The key is don't pre-order.

Once you set up your online PhotoPass account and get your PP cards added to it, the normal, everyday price for a CD from DLR is $79.95 (+ shipping, etc). You can do all of your editing and enhancing.

Nowhere on the PP website does it tell you this before the fact. They show the $124.95 regular price and the $99.95 pre-order price, but no indication that the CD for DLR is less. The only time I was able to see the $79.95 price was after they uploaded the pics and then that price showed up.

While I was there this week I asked several different PP people in DL and DCA, never got the same answer. I emailed PP, and they replied there was no reduced price online for a CD from DLR. So I went ahead and pre-ordered at the $99.95 rate.

Today I enter my PP numbers, upload my photos and look in the cart... a CD is $79.95.

I am peeved to say the least.

Nowhere on the PP website does it tell you this before the fact. They show the $149.95 regular price and the $99.95 pre-order price, but no indication that the CD for DLR is less. The only time I was able to see the $79.95 price was after they uploaded the pics and then that price showed up.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. :) I wonder why the CD is cheaper for Disneyland than Disney World. That's so odd.

I know! You'd think that the amount of work/materials/whatever would be the same, no matter what side of the country the pics are coming from

I'd guess because there are 2 parks at DL and 4 at WDW along with 2 water parks. The difference in the number of parks and the fact that most people do longer trips at WDW than at DL, I think would mean that people tend to end up with more pics at WDW than they do at DL. I could see charging more for WDW because of this... But then Disney may have some other reason!

I also have paid the 99.00..so..how do you cancel a pre paid 99 one and then just get the 79 (+ shipping etc) one.?

I have also emailed to refund my pre pay and haven't heard anything yet. Any luck with you?

So if we wait until we get home, enter photos online, we will receive the $79 price - are we able to wait 2 weeks to work on edits prior to ordering online then? I think we have 30 days from the date the first card is inputted into the system? I also understand for group photopass shares, that if everyone can wait for one set day upon their return, that if they enter their photopass cards online on the same day (as multiple people can be logged in), then the photos will be better grouped. If anyone has corrections to make to these comments, please do so, thanks.

Thanks!! :)

For those who paid $99, I had heard somewhere that sometimes they email you a discount code of $20? Check your junkmail folders, maybe, and keep an eye open for that. Good luck!

This hasn't been the Photopass trip I thought it would be, but I did pop my head into the photo center, and noticed their sign.

Unedited CD is available to get and take home with you, with 3 5x7 prints, for 79.99.

In January I was told that you cannot make the fun edits at the parks for that CD, but that might have changed.

They are really playing with prices, b/c in late January it was that CD and only two prints for 74.99.

Heh... well I guess it's not too surprising that even the PP people are confused... they keep changing things! :rotfl:

STILL nothing about how to cancel the pre paid 99.00 one and just get the NOT pre paid 79.00 one. I think I will go ahead and just suck it up and finish my order so we can get the thing. SOOO> if you are only going to DLR. DO NOT pre pay..you'll have a heck of a time cancelling, apparently, since they won't even respond to my email to me how to do this..

UPDATE!
I still haven't heard from the PhotoPass people but while checking my credit card info last night saw a credit from them. Sooo..they just refunded me without notifying me..Now I can finish up my Photopass order :)
Yea..live and learn :) and thanks to all on here who always have so much info.
