PhotoPass questions tying up loose ends for a trip in 10 days

OK I have been reading so many threads since we started planning our trip so I am sure this has been covered but I want to be sure I have it all clear.

We were originally going to preorder our photo pass plus before our trip so we would have it ready to go. However, budget did not allow this to happen and now we are 10 days from leaving to head down. So here are my questions:

Can I wait till after the trip to pay for photo pass plus once I see our photos online?

If so, will it be the $169.00 or will it be more because it is AFTER the actual trip?

When we are in the park and we are using the regular photo pass, with a plan to buy plus after the trip, do they still take an over abundance of photos? Or do we actaully have to show that plus card to get that?

And the photos we have taken at the character meals I know if you have plus it can just be put on that and then you don't need to buy them right away. What happens with that if you haven't bought the plus yet? Do you have to pay for them? Or can you have them put them on your pass knowing you are buying plus later?

And in the end if we buy the plus while at the park is it more for sure and how much more? And do you get a plus card like the website shows? or do you just use your regular photo pass?

Once in the resort or park where do we purchase the plus package if we decide to do it then? The resort or can you go to any gift shop etc?

Thanks everyone I have pouring over the DIS and so has my husband. Trying to use everyone's tips that will work for us. Hoping I can share my own after we return> This is our first trip for both of us and for our 4 yr old daughter. I want to be sure to have all the photos we can get to remember it by.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but... You can only get the price of $169 before your trip. Since it is now less than 2 weeks before you leave, you will have to buy it when you get there for $199. You must have it before taking pics if you want to take advantage of the service. Won't do you any good to "pre order" when you get home.
If you just want the regular photopass CD, you can still pre order that now for $119. You just add regular photo pass card photos to it when you get home. If you choose not to pre order that, you can still get the regular photopass CD when you arrive home, but not at the discounted price.
Someone will probably explain it better, but that's my take. The best info I have found is on the photopass facebook page.

If you want the plus you have to buy it at the park. Otherwise you won't get the ride photos or restaurant photos free.

You can still prepay for the regular photopass if you want. Or just buy the photopass plus when you get there.

Not sure if Disney charges tax online (I would think they do), but if you buy the plus at WDW, it will be $199.95 + tax (which is either 6% or 7%) - so it's going to be between $213 and $214.

You don't get any of the bonus features (the character photos or the ride photos) unless you show the physical card at the location.

BTW, if you decide not to do the + option, the regular purchase price of the photopass CD itself is $169.95 online and in the parks. In order to save $, you need to have pre-purchased the regular CD (at $119.95 before the first photo is taken).

No AP discounts either...

Ok so I need to order the plus to get the character and ride photos put on right? The regular photo Cd if I buy it ahead of time no matter the price won't have those on it correct? They only put those on the plus?

I would like to preorder the plus but we won't have the means until our trip. SO regardless of the price and whichever I chose where do I buy it when I get there?

Correct - only the character and ride photos are on plus card. No way to get them without showing the actual physical card.

Yes, you can get it at WDW at the Photopass stores in the park (at AK, it's at the very front as soon as you enter!) Don't do what I did and backtrack

No idea. You might be able to first charge it to your credit card and have them replace the method of payment (via telephone) with a gift card.

How far away are you from your trip? Most people in the DLR photopass+ site say they get theirs within 3-5 days.

Ok FYI for everyone. I actually called a number AAA gave me that goes directly to photo pass. I can not buy it online with gift cards but can do so if we buy it when we get there. We can not have it sent to our resort if our trip is less than 14 days away. So we are out of luck. I will have to pay full price when we get there. She told me there is a place in Downtown Disney to get the plus and that is where we are headed the first day we arrive.

She told me there is a place in Downtown Disney to get the plus and that is where we are headed the first day we arrive.

Have the photo passes changed? We prebought the CD and just used the photo cards that the photographers gave us at the parks. When we got home we added the pics that we had on the cards that we had and when our Photo CD came all of our pics were on the CD. That way if my husband and I were seperated with one of the kids we did not miss any photo opportunities. We were also able to add our personal photos to the CDs as well and that was nice cause we have all our memories in one place!

If that changed that would be rotton. Trying to keep up with one photo card for a whole family! Yuck.

You don't need to head DTD just pick it up at the camera center in the first park you go to unless you have a character meal before that. I picked mine up at AK

I got a card with my AAA package and pre-registered it, not bought it. I decided that ride photos is not that big of a deal lfor us, so Plus is not necessary. But since I have that preregistered and I'll use it in the parks, with the idea that I can check out the photos and decide when we get home weather or not to buy. Can our family at home use that web site and our password to view while we are gone? Like, see each day what we are up to?
