Quick question from a 1st timer.

During the photopass picture opportunities will I be able to have my own camera out and be shooting pictures also?

I don't mind not being in the pictures, I just want to make sure I can actually take pictures (in a good location) without getting in trouble.

Will I be able to stand next to the photopass photographers during character meet and greets?

How about with Character Meals (ie. Mickey's Cafe and Tusker House)?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

You can take pictures during the meet and greets, but I would think that you shouldn't stand too close to the PP photographer simply because they could be moving around while shooting.

At the character meals they don't have PP photographers to take your picture with the characters, you just get your picture taken in front of a background of some sort. (You might get your picture taken with Donald when you first arrive at Tusker House, but I've never eaten there, so I'm not sure.) And by the way, it's called Chef Mickey's, not Mickey's Cafe. ;)

Well, I think you might be overestimating the goodness of the locations where they have PP photographers. :)

If you are taking pictures at the same time as the PP person is, you're not going to get great results. The people in your party won't know where to look. You will get some looking at you and some looking at the photog. Make sure they know who is taking pictures when, if you want pictures on your own camera, so that everyone is looking in the right direction.

Character meals that have photos mean that you take a picture before you are seated. It's either with the "host" of the meal, like Safari Donald at Tusker House, or with literally a statue, like the statue of Mickey before being seated at Chef Mickey's. That is the ONLY place you'll have the PP photographers at character meals. Everything else will be the awkward "I'm sitting at the table and the kids and character are standing" pictures, LOL.

Thank you for the responses. We truthfully don't intend to get the PP so I am just hoping to be able to get a couple good shots and want to make sure I am not going to be shot-blocked by the PP photographer.

I ordered the photopass + and just received the voucher and cd case. Instructions say to redeem the voucher, and the gallery cd case has a sticker that says no refunds or exchanges. I know this is silly, but we can open the cd case right? The sticker just allows me the ability in case I want to exchange or refund?

Sure, you can open it. I thought I had read that you could get a refund as long as you don't open the case, but it sounds like that may not be the case any more. Just don't lose the code inside the case because you'll need that when it's time to order the CD when you get home.

Refund only if case is unopened.

The photopass photographers will take pictures of your group with your camera. If it makes you feel bad, just let them take a pic of you with their camera too. That costs nothing.
