I can only speak about two photographers. We had Mike Strickland for our June '08 Escape wedding, and we're very pleased (see our Escape TR). We had Ty for our MK photo shoot in Jan. We are thrilled with them, as well.

I think due to budget and no one I really love being available I am just going to go with disney

They start around 850 for just the high-res DVD, but if you just want a copy of the pictures (not high-res) it's 200 an hour!

I have to agree 100% !!!!!!! We just had david and vicki as the photographers for our wedding last monday and they were simply awesome!!!!!!!!!! I have only seen a small handful of pics so far, but they are gorgeous. And everyone at the wedding loved david and vicki! They are super nice people and awesome photgraphers. You wont be disappointed!

I don't think Disney Photographers are "ehhh", it's just that you can't choose who you want and they are hiring non professionals to train to fill in the spots for the ones who have left Disney. Unfortunately, a lot of the great ones have left.

Most of the very talented and creative Disney Photographers have left Disney. David and Vicki Arndt, Paul Looper and Damon Tucci have started their own business and are thriving. I work in Entertainment and still see most of them except for Paul. I think he moved out of state.

We have booked David and Vicki to shoot my parents vow renewal and couldn't be happier that they are available.

We used DPS and had Amy for both our EPCOT shoot and the wedding itself and we LOVED her. She's been doing photography for 8 years and while I haven't seen the final product, we did get to see a few sneak peeks on her camera and they were amazing. I'm very excited about seeing all our pictures!

I have Joe Duncan. I am glad to hear you were happy with your pictures. They look beautiful! I have a question, with the standard resolution CD, when you print the pictures at a print higher then 4x6, is the quality really bad and grainy?

Hi! and thanks for your compliments! I think I posted on another thread you had about Joe--so hopefully you saw my comments/suggestions! Over all you're in good hands!

In all honesty, yes the pics are grainy when I try to print anything larger than 4x6 from my standard disk. Before we went for our album session, I asked about only having 1 "family album" (it's all we needed) and crediting the 2nd to go towards a high resolution disk. It wasn't worth it for us (they only gave a $200 credit). So we are waiting the 3 years (2 now) to purchase a high-res disk at 1/2 the cost and utilized our 2nd "family album" as a "MK Album".

I will add that we recently received our Large portraits, family album, and additional MK album and they are gorgeous! I mean even better than I expected! We're still waiting for our personal album (we selected the Digital Montage) which will be another month I'm sure, but I am really pleased with the pics- esp. the portraits! Our experience with Disney photography from the get-go was great and I am sure it will be the same for you! Congrats! (I think your wedding is coming up quickly)! Enjoy every moment!

you did respond on the other thread! that is how i checked out your photos and they did look beautiful. I appreciate the comments.
at least it is good to hear that the potraits are really good quality and nice especially since you are paying an arm and a leg for them. photography is the one of the most important things to me besides food. i think we are also going to wait the 3 years to purchase the CD also. at least i can post on facebook with the other cd- thanks again for the advice!
