Victorian* Victorian architecture in Victoria is not the typical folk and shingle style found in the US. This is a shot of the Rialto Building, which is Free Gothic (Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorian_architecture)
0701Victorian1July01.jpg

Weathervane I had no idea that the Rialto Building sported a weathervane till I took a shot of it on Thursday. But then, I only worked in the high rise building behind it for 5 years!

(Yes, I'm afraid this is the best we can do here!!!:lmao: As PrincessinOz has said we don't do baseball here. This very small baseball field is only used about twice a year as you can tell by the rust on the sink!!!)

Obsolete:

(This is Newstead House, now a museum, built in 1846 for pastoralist Patrick Leslie. It sits on a bend of the Brisbane River with views up and down the river. Most of the pictures in my last couple of posts are from here. There is a website with lots more information www.newsteadhouse.com.au )

PrincessInOz thank you for paving the way for the Australian contingent...I'm eagerly awaiting the answer to this question to see if I should be stalking the Australia post vans!

Thank you for posting a photo of the MCG, an awesome venue! Will post one of the SCG shortly (got to get there first), the Sydney equivalent.

It was so cold and bleak today. Went to the harbour front to try to take some photos but they all just lacked the Harbour's usual colour and vibrancy. So I will go back when its sunny and repost the photos of the Harbour, bridge and Opera House in all its glory.

Empty* Unusual for the Harbour - normally a hub of activity with tourists, ferries and sailboats.
4754664092_d3f43ca376.jpg

Historical* The Sydney Harbour Bridge - A Sydney icon, the tallest steel arch bridge in the world and until recently the world's widest long span bridge with 8 traffic lanes, 2 rail lines as well as a pedestrian lane. Before it was built, travel from the North of the Harbour was by steam ferry or via a long route inland.

Famous landmark* The Sydney Opera House
