Here are a few I took this weekend. I am not pleased with some of them, so I hope to replace them. But for now, I will post what I have.

Some of these shots were taken with a new point and shoot I bought. They had it on sale at Aldi. I am not pleased with it, so I am returning it to the store. I had been borrowing my sons Fuji point and shoot, so I will stick to that when I don't have my D90.

Taffy, Salt Water* And these! I stole a shot and the taffy stayed in the shop. Someone might be able to enlighten me; but I thought the price in Australia is almost criminal!

The price is no better here in the States. The last time I was at the shore taffy was $14.95 a pound.

This group of items were things that I had thought only possible to find in America....it's amazing what you can track down in Melbourne when you set your mind to it!

Old Glory I found this store in the Yellow Pages....

And they had one of these pinned up on the wall!

Smore I looked around and found these in the corner! I had thought that these were almost impossible to get in Australia.

Almost $15 a POUND!!

For anyone who wants to buy Taffy, it's cheaper in Australia! At $17 a KILO (which is 2.2 pounds), you only need to buy about 63 kilograms of taffy and you would have paid for your $1000 airline ticket .

U.S. Government Building

I finally tracked down the USA Consulate General in Melbourne. This is the Building...please note the US Flag (Old Glory) flying and the Australian Flag on the flagpole behind. The Consulate General offices are located on Level 6 (top floor) of this building.

(Yes, nice Reflection and ZigZag. It's tragic!)

Here's the tenant's list, in the foyer, showing the address and the Consulate General offices on Level 6.

This is the emblem of the US Consulate General in this building. Please note it says "Department of State, USA".

I believe that a Consulate General or Embassy is considered 'foreign soil' by the country it is situated in (in this case Australia); and that it is legally part of the country that occupies the space (in this case USA).

Can the Aussies claim the point for US Government Building?

H Eating a Hot dog The owner of the auction where I work doing the best part of auction day... Eating anything!! His daughter is in charge of the kitchen there and everything is homemade and DELICIOUS

I Itty bitty .. this little guy was hanging out on my back door one night catching tiny bugs that were coming to the light. I wish I could have put a dime in the pic with him to show his size because he could have sat on a dime with room to spare. I think he was the tinyest frog I ever saw.

Off out with my camera again today to get some more of these items!! I am seeing more of my city than I have ever done before, I think! So here we go!

Today I went to the Queensland Maritime Museum (in search of that elusive torpedo, among other things!) and Southbank, which is a recreational space on the site of Expo '88. It is on the south bank of the Brisbane River, opposite the CBD.

(It was a bit tricky getting this one - I didn't have my tripod and it was a bit dark, so it is a bit blurry. There are so many ship models here - they are amazing!)
