Photographing the attractions

I've been looking at some of the photosites - suffering withdrawal symptoms [again] :rotfl: and I'm sure I saw somewhere that you are not allowed to photograph on the rides and what have you. I noticed that several of the sites have photos from within some of the rides. Are you allowed to take pics on rides such as POC? I've always wanted to get some pics but thought you'd 'cop it' from the cast members if you did so.

Can someone advise please?

Hi NIK
The official page says it`s not allowed to use flash photography or videotape the attractions. I never took pictures of PoC but I got some nice IASW pictures without using flash. And I remember there are always some people on the rides using their flash without anything happening. :confused3

You are not allowed to take pictures. And the reason is: the flashlight could ruin the experience for other quests. And that is true! If you are at POTC or PM or PP the flashlight ruins the “at night” feeling!

But we have taken pictures at PM, POTC, Snow White and many others. But we only do this if we are alone in the boat/car. So if you want to take pictures you should visit these attractions close to closing time. Then you can get a car for yourself at Snow White or POTC! Or at PM you could wait until the others are already boarded and then you take one of the last doom buggies!

But we always try not to ruin the experience for others! When we rode PP in June there was a family who took many many pictures. And due to the flashlight we couldn’t enjoy the London at night feeling! And by the way many of these shoots wont be very good due to the wiggle. And you can’t capture the atmosphere of London at night on a picture! :wizard:

Hi I have taken Pictures on IASW however I really don't take many pictures as I find that I don't enjoy the ride as much as I miss a lot of the little details.

We've taken photographs in all the rides I think, but i do feel guilty to admit that it has not always been when we are alone, except on PM and POC. But yes I think the CMs are so used to it that it is more of a guideline that some people freely cross (inc yours truly) rather than a strict rule.

I wondered particularly since I saw several folks using camcorders and cameras last time I was there. I didn't see any flash but as my camera flash only has a tiny range anyway it wouldn't be any use whatsoever. It's going to be hit and miss anyway I think.

Thanks for your advice though all! :thumbsup2

Hope you get some good results :thumbsup2 Look forward to seeing some posted up on the board :goodvibes

I was looking at some of my pics from previous holidays. I'd love to post them but as I only have limited internet access I can't seem to get them online. I can only use the library's facilities as I'm not online at home - hoping to get on at some point but just can't afford it at the mo! - and they seem to block all the useful sites that will allow me to post my pics :surfweb: :surfweb: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

That's a shame, we'd love to see them too. Can you not upload them through the DIS's own photosite here? You will find it on left-hand side of the DIS main page under "Community Photos" or do you find the library blocks that too.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Hooray! It doesn't block it. Just about every other photo site I've tried has been blocked. I'll sort out some of my pics and post them. I presume I then just post the link do I? :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I have taken pictures inside the rides. I used flash on rides-with-light, such as iasm. But don't use a flash for pictures on dark rides, like PP or POTC. The flash blinds the CMs that are watching the infra-red-camera-screens, for your security!

I thought there would be one good reason for not using flash. I don't even know if my camera will take a good picture inside the rides but I would like to give it a try. :teeth: :teeth:
