Hey Guys and Gals,
Quick question. I need some advice, direction or leads?.?.?
I have a Disney inspired show truck that will be completed this winter. The truck will be shot this spring for atleast one feature in a non-Disney related magazine. Do any of you know a way that I might be able to get the truck into the gates of WDW-MK or similar backdrop for the photoshoot.
I guess I could always do the entrance sign, a resort or possibly downtown Disney (specifically in front of World of Disney) but I'm at a loss as to going about getting access... I want more than the typical parking lot or roadway backdrops.
Thanks in advance for any/all help!
Cheers,
Chris

sorry for the double post. wasnt sure where id get the best response...
i will post photos/links once i get my post count to 10 :headache:
many photos are on Fb at facebook(dot)com/lucky.brewer

I guess I'd start by contacting Disney's media or public relations departments. I would imagine it would be a lot of hoops to jump through to get access inside a park, but it never hurts to ask.

Google pointed me to: For Walt Disney World Media Relations, contact Michelle Baumann at (407) 397-6397

If all else fails, you can take a few shots of the backgrounds you want, then through the magic of Photoshop, add a photo of you car to it.

i am going to call her this week. i expect a no but i guess you never know. ive sent "celebations magazine" an email to see if they want to run the truck in the mag or better yet, on the cover. LOL. im sure Mongello could pull some strings. haha.

yeah, ive toyed that idea. i know several guys that are awesome with it in the car/truck community and im sure there are plenty on this board as well. the light and placement is key to make it look right though and nothing beats the real deal.

Be careful. If the photo is going to be published you will likely need a release provided by Disney to give you the rights to use recognizable images in the shot for publication. Definitely contact their Media Relations department. Don't try to do it on your own.

COOL! i guess now that i'm at 10 posts, i can post up my truck.

But first, just a bit of history on this truck.
I had a truck almost identical to this when i was in high-school back in the mid 90s. When i hit my 30s i reeeally started to miss the truck. The hood hung on the wall in my den which was a constant reminder of how bad i missed taking this truck to shows, etc. The only piece I had from the previous truck was the hood, the grille and a ton of memories!
I have been active in the custom truck/car scene for over 20 years and ive had tons of custom vehicles but i missed this one the most. After long hours on the web and talking to friends I finally found one out of state that was worthy of building.
I bought it on ebay, flew to N.Carolina and drove it home. The rest is history...
It will soon be painted to match the hood so dont mind the ugly gray primer and lack of interior. i was anxious to share it with you guys. Enjoy!

Wow, and I thought having a little mickey ball on the antenna was cool. :worship:

it is cool, but a full blown disney car gets more attention and interesting reactions..

one of my favorites with the mickeymobile, was the day I was sitting at a traffic light, this SUV with 4 or 5 biker type dudes pulled up beside me, I could see one of them checking out my car, , he told the other guys to look, next thing I know, they put their windows down and all started to sing

M-I-C...K-E-Y...M-O-U-S-E..while giving me the thubs up..

just 2 weeks ago I shot a wedding, at the end of the day I was packing my camera gear in The Black Pearl, I heard a girls voice scream..are those skulls..

there was the little flower girl all dressed in pink, checking out my pinstrpes which have silver skulls in them, I told her to look at the hood, and she said wow..this is sooo cool

it's amazing that people of all ages, and walks of life will stop to make positive comments and ask about the car
