Love it!
I've been stalking this Blue Heron for about 5 weeks. Finally, he let me snap his portrait.

How do you get a photo rather than a link with Smugmug?
Not the best shot but definitely the most interesting. As happens fairly often, a hot air balloon was visible from my house. They usually float right over at a pretty low altitude but this one was quite far away and I was at the far end of my 70-300. As I snapped a couple of shots, an American Airlines MD-80 came screaming into the frame at just the right time. I just sort of got a kick out of it.![]()

A few of the better shots (because I can't pick just one favorite) from a recent sunrise session at the beach, from July 4th morning:

The rest of the set HERE if anyone cares...
One of my last shots from a 'trash-the-dress' model shoot I did last Thursday.
Oh... and to just make a quick comment about 'trashing the dress'.... the whole point is not about the actual trashing of the dress or anything like that; although that is the final outcome. These session originated as a "Anti-Bridal" sessions and then later was dubbed Trash the Dress. The point is to 1) create unusual and interesting artwork that causes some sort of reaction (which love it or hate it.... there is a reaction) and 2) to say something about spending $10K on a dress you wear only one day. The point of the entire session is to point out the excesses of society and to comment about it. I personally find them incredibly captivating! And as a photographer, intensely creative as you can go places there isn't time, energy or will to do on a wedding day. It truly opens your mind to doing something different!
