Nikon D700/Tokina 11-16mm, f/22, ISO 200, EV +0.6, 16mm focal length, 5-shot HDR Image.

Another D700 with Tokina UWA @ 15mm (widest it can go before starting to vignette on the FX body).

Scott- How does that compare to shooting at the widest and cropping? I shot the Sigma 8-16 Full Frame before I returned it and oddly it was a much wider field of view to shoot wide and crop vs. just zooming mid range to keep the sensor covered.

I do use the Tokina that way. Here's an uncropped photo at 11mm on the D700.

I cropped it to yield this photo which is useful for website banners and such.

You Guy's Have me Completely Stoked! on Ultra-Wide Angle Lens and Fish Eye lens.

I've seen so many great photos, that my heading is spinning like those planets in front of Mission space!

So, a question....I have a Canon Rebel EOS T1i DLSR....what lenses work best with this camera?

I've seen people mention Tokina, Sigma and a few others....I'm looking for an affordable lense...not professional. Also, I don't like the lenses that create that vignette (black circle) around the outside of the fish eye lenses.

TIA.

Tokina makes the 11-16mm f/2.8 and 12-24mm f/4 for Canons which are bargain priced compared to Canons.

People also like the Sigma 10-20.

And the Tamron 10-24. And the Sigma 8-16. Those are liked as well. Basically, they're all pretty decent, and all a different style of shooting that once you get past the learning curve can be loads of fun and yield very cool results. Check them all out for prices and availability...you can't go too wrong with any of them.

Another gorgeous day in Fort Worth. Here's a shot from this morning looking down Main Street at the Courthouse.

Tokina 11-16mm

Is this a single shot HDR or Multi-shot? I'm guessing single, since there is no blur in the movement of the guy walking across the street.

Actually it is a three-shot HDR. Photoshops HDR has excellent de-ghosting. I then tonemapped in Photomatix, which has decent de-ghosting too, but I think Photoshops does a better job.
