Ok everyone, quick update...

I purchased a Minolta 50mm f/1.4 and a Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5, both used, from B&H for just under $250 for BOTH lenses! :woohoo:

I don't know a whole lot about the Tokina other than it's supposed to be sharp when stopped down some. I plan on using it at f/11 for long exposure shots on a tripod so it should be perfect for that. I just wanted an ultrawide lens that was relatively sharp and cheap. It fit the bill. The Minolta should be awesome until I can get my hands on a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART (whenever that will be...)

I've been lazy and haven't posted any pictures recently from my a99 so here's one taken with the a99 and the Rokinon 35mm f/1.4, ISO 6400, 1/40 sec, manual focus.

Great shot! I picked up an old Minolta Rokkor 50mm 1.4 for about $60 recently and love the color that comes out of that lens.

Great shot!
The Minolta will do fine until you can get the ART. It's a very good (but not amazing) lens. Acceptable wide open. Center very sharp with just a little stopping down. Corners lack a bit, but generally only when pixel peeping.
The sigma 18-35 just finally became available for Sony after a year-- so that gives you an idea of the wait for the ART.
I'm considering the Sigma 24-105 when it becomes available but may have to sell my 28-75/2.8 to justify it. It will be a tough call.

I'm not expecting it to be amazing. It seems to be the exact same lens as the Sony version but without the digital coating. I couldn't really justify spending $450 on the Sony version when the Sony is "adequate" instead of great. I think the Minolta 50mm will suit me just fine for now. I think I still use my Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 as my main prime. But I would like having an autofocus lens with a "normal" field of view. I sometimes like to have my own picture taken but I obviously don't trust people to focus my Rokinon.

The Sigma 24-105 appeals a lot more to me than the 28-75 f/2.8. However for the money I might be tempted by the 50mm and 35mm before the 24-105. However, as far as zoom lens goes, the Sigma 24-105 f/4 is very appealing.

Very nice Tom! ^^^^^

I took my Soligor 200mm 2.8 and Minolta 50mm 1.4 to my Sister's yesterday. We had a nice cookout under beautiful weather. My niece was a very willing model as she played around in the yard.

Some shots with the Soligor...

We've been having some freaky storms come through the last few days, which created some dramatic skies and even double rainbows.
