Photo sharing: Sony Alpha

HI,
I'm also from SE Mass ( mansfield). I am wondering if you can tell me exactly what camera you are using, the photos are gorgeous.
I esp. loved the AKL in B&W and the ? sepia tone shot inside the castle.
Some photos are missing, but were some from Borderland State Park you are talking about?

DH's "beer can" arrived safely yesterday, despite the box looking like somebody played rugby with it. He only had a few minutes to play with it yesterday afternoon, but I think he is pleased.

He has a 50mm en route. Should be here today or tomorrow.

I'm just getting our pictures posted from our trip last week. The full gallery is here which include pictures from my wife's Kodak. The pictures from the Sony start here.

There were several pictures I was pleased with. I found I need a ton more practice on fireworks. I only attempted to shoot one show (Wishes one night), but only got 2 or 3 out of a 100 or so that I liked. Part of the problem was the wind, which carried some of the fireworks rather quickly. I haven't had much time to do any post processing, but here are a few examples that I liked:

You must tell me your secrets taking your night shots. I cannot keep the noise out of mine. I have the DT 18-70 F3.5-5.6 Lens (came with the camera) and a SLA75300 75-300mm F4.5-5.6 Lens.

OK, I finally ordered my camera! The 300. I ordered from Circuit City. I know many of you don't like that store but they had the camera at a $50 discount and AAA has a 8% discount. so the camera only cost me $597.99 and then I bought the 55-200 "beer can" since that was on sale also and I got the AAA discount so it was 202.39. They charged me tax, so really I ended up with a 2% discount (MD sales tax it 6%).
I paid 4.99 for 3 day shipping, tax was 48.02, final price $853.39. It is suppose to ship tomorrow!

My husband and I have been doing some research on which DSLR to purchase. We have gone through the Canon vs. Nikon debate with friends of ours...but in the back of my mind I really wanted a Sony but they don't seem to be a DSLR "winner". Yesterday's Best Buy add has the Sony Alpha A200 on sale (and a lens on sale too)...so I started reading on CNET, Circuitcity.com, and Bestbuy.com... then I decided to consult the disboards (when in doubt you all tend to help with the TRUTH)...I am going out during my lunch break to make the purchase!! I can't wait to use it. I have 36 days until my trip so I plan on taking the sony online class to help me become a beginnning expert before my trip!!!!!!!!

Bought my Alpha yesterday and I am soooo excited! I have to wait a few days for the larger lens to come in but I am slowly learning how to use it!

My next question is...I am looking for a good waist pack to use (just can't do the back pack because it is too hot).

we just got back from the world at the very end of june. it was our first trip with the alpha. it did good i think. here are some photos (which are prolly duplicates from another thread).

These are all such wonderful pictures! I just got the Alpha A200 in May and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it properly before we go on our trip in September! If I can get pictures that are even half way as good as some of the ones I've seen here, I'll be happy!
