photo sharing: self portraits

Show us a shot that you've taken of yourself. Don't have one? Make one.

Here's mine:

One from Halloween a year or two ago.

I can't believe I'm even posting this one, but it's a photo of me and DH on Palm Beach in Aruba the day his enlistment in the US Navy was up. As a "becoming a civilian again" present, I suprised him with a trip. The shot itself isn't great, but that was probably one of the happiest days for us as a couple and seeing a photo of DH so relaxed and at ease was just such a nice change.

This last one is a self portrait I took of part of myself after getting a new tattoo. My father passed away 3 weeks before my wedding and this was a memorial tattoo. He (very sarcastically) used to call me his Dainty Little Flower, so I got dainty little flowers with his name.

I'm sure someone else has realized this, but it is SO hard to take a picture of yourself with a dSLR...I guess that's one good thing about a little point and shoot that fits in the palm of your own hand, you get to have some photographic evidence that you once existed. :rotfl:

Who's next??? :goodvibes

HA! Very nice, much more "realistic" than ours. I was a "zombie bride"...that was my real wedding dress I had on. It was Halloween and a family member decided to have a party and I had no costume. What was I to do?? :confused3 My Mom almost killed me to see me ruining my dress, but what else could I use it for? My DH decided to be a "drowned sailor" and did the same thing, put on his dress uniform from the NAVY and painted his face blue and black. Nothing spectacular, but when life gives you apples...make apple pie, right?? :goodvibes

Okay, I wasn't doing anything at this hour so I dragged out my S5 to post this:

the one in my sig is the only one we have taken...I will have to do more when my new Canon XSi shows up this week...Can't wait.:cool1:

This is the most recent - DH and I on our 22nd wedding anniversary on Dec. 6th. It is not a total true self portrait. I set the exposure halfway (ISO - aperture) and then handed the camera to my youngest who focused and set the shutter speed according to the incamera light meter. Then I processed and did a little post work on it.

This next one is a true self portrait taken back in Sept.

This is me & DH on our honeymoon - taken on Aug. 1 or 2 while waiting on a bus at OKW. It was taken with our Olympus 1030SW... didn't have the XSi at that time! I haven't tried a self-portrait with the XSi yet, unless you count a large group shot we took using the remote yesterday that I haven't put on the computer yet...

Took one today .. I was bored and playing with the camera while I was sitting in the car waiting for the UPS guy.
