Our local Down syndrome family group hosted a Sweetheart Dance this past weekend. I gave my new Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens a great workout. I also bought a new flash, the SB-900. Now I have a 3 flash set up. With that in mind I put together a quick portrait setup at the dance using a white sheet as a background. I aimed each of my 2 SB-600's at the sheet behind the subject and used the SB-900 on camera as the main flash and commander flash to wirelessly trigger the SB-600's. Still need to work out the kinks, but considering the flash arrived Saturday night and I set this up on Sunday afternoon, it all came out pretty good.....

Kyle awesome shots!!!!!! Looks as though you don't have many "kinks" there to work out, all your shots came out great!! :thumbsup2

I love this site and have spent hours looking at all your amazing shots. At present I have a Sony DSC-H5 camera. It is a step up from basic point and shoot, but you all have convinced me to upgrade to a Nikon. I am a 70 years old, love taking pictures and want to bump up my knowledge. I am pretty well convinced to buy the Nikon
D-3100 in a couple of months. Right now we are in Kissimmee for 3 more weeks. Could anyone give me some advice on what kind of settings to use with my Sony for the fireworks and light parade? After I get the new Nikon, I will take a course but for now need some help. Also, what editing programs do you all use.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Cincinnati at Dusk (the Ohio River is above flood stage here and I went to see what pics I could get...I am very pleased with this one!)

Scott, I notice at least 14 dust spots in the sky portion of your image. The small aperture really makes them stand out.

Haven't had much time to shoot the past two weeks, but did get a chance this morning before a meeting. Here's Fort Worth looking south over the river.
