No special effects done with this pic. I just happend to time not holding my camera still just perfectly.



And whats funny is the pic I took just before it (I had the camera set to speed shutter) was just the opposite. The body was in focus but the face was blurry.

This is our train station - 100% tourist for dinner theater and excursion use only. The only thing out area has going for it is trains, civil war history and a small but hopefully growing arts district that's slightly over the top!

This was the first day I got my camera. Can't wait to go take more pics there now that I know a bit more. If anyone likes trains and would like to see more of our area, there are some beautiful photographs by some local photographers here that I would love to try to learn from. Bill Merlavage (he teaches and I hope to take a class one day soon) is one of the photographers I've been looking at. I enjoy this thread a lot BTW, it's great to see all the pics. I know some Bill's work from the Theme Park POTD thread but I love seeing the other stuff here!

My friend's little boy. I had no idea I owned a "soft box". I learned that our 50" DLP TV makes a great light source! (I bounced my flash off of it too.) I was experimenting with my new 50D. I LOVE how well it handles noise. This was ISO 2000 - no post processing yet on this one!
