I have never done photo pass before at Disneyland. From the current Christmas thread with all the awesome pictures, I was thinking of maybe doing it this December. I will be doing Minnie and Friends Breakfast. It would be so much easier to enjoy the characters without scrambling to also take pictures if someone would do that for me. How does that work? I know I pre purchase and then maybe bring a printout or some type of proof with me? I am an old fashioned dinosaur and do not have a smart phone so that wouldn't work for me to show the CM my phone. At the meal, a photographer would snap pictures at different times? Throughout my visit, when I would see a photographer, I'd ask them to take a picture and it would be loaded onto my account? I believe I have read that you are eventually sent in the mail a CD of pictures? And/or are able to look at photos online and then decide which ones to buy or is that only when you do not prepay and are given a code in the park?

One other Christmas photo pass related question...do any of the borders say Merry Christmas? I am not a fan of Happy Holidays. Thank you so much!

One final question...I apologize if this is obvious. I am often very bad about closing my eyes in a picture! I am guessing the photographer would take several with a particular character for me to choose from? Or to be sure one came out!

Once you prepurchase they will send you (in the mail) a voucher for you to bring with you to the parks. Then once you get to Disneyland you head over to the photography store and they'll exchange your voucher for the lanyard with the photopass+ card. You get that card scanned every time you get your picture taken (they are easy to find, pretty much everywhere and always more than ready to take your picture).

Once you have all of your pictures after your trip you can view them online edit them & add borders before ordering the CD (that is already prepaid for). The CD will have all of your pictures on it

They photographers usually take 2-3 pictures so you should be good with getting one with your eyes opened :)

I can't remember if they actually say Merry Christmas or not. Sorry!

You can pre-purchase PP+ at a discount or you can buy it at DLR.
https://www.disneyphotopass.com/specialoffers/dlrppp.htm

If you opt to pre-purchase PP+, you will be mailed (snail mail) a voucher that you can exchange for your PP+ lanyard when you arrive at DLR. The voucher can be exchanged at the camera centers in DL or DCA. Other folks have said they were also able to exchange their vouchers at one of the character meals (which makes sense because you can usually purchase PP+ at the meal).

Once you have your lanyard, you will use that to have your photos added to your online account. Hand the PP photographer your lanyard, they'll scan it, and the photos will be added to your account. I don't know about Minnie's Breakfast, but at Surf's Up (at PCH Grill) the PP photographer was only at the entrance where you take your photo with Minnie. There were no photographers with the other characters (the ones that roam the dining room).

There are also photographers scattered throughout the parks, at many of the the formal and informal character meet and greets, and at the new 60th anniversary backdrops. You would just hand them your PP+ lanyard and they'll scan it. You can ask them to take multiple pictures (they don't seem to necessarily do that every time automatically). All photos are added to your account, so you can choose which ones you like. After you get home (or at least finish up your trip), log into your Photopass account (you'll have to make one to pre-order PP+, in most cases), modify the photos as you like and then use the second voucher that came with the pre-order to get the CD. You have to order the CD, they won't send it to you automatically. If you have PP+, you might as well have the CD contain all of your photos. Otherwise, yes, you can pick and choose which ones you want (if you do not buy PP+, you can buy individual photos - but they are pricey).

When you pre-order PP+, they send you the Gallery CD (of images around the resort), and a voucher taped to the outside of the case. All you need to bring to the parks with you is the voucher taped on the outside. You exchange that for your PP+ and lanyard.
When you go to the character meals (with the exception of Storytellers), a photo will be taken of you when you enter (GK with Goofy or Pluto, AG with Ariel's, Surf's Up with Mickey, and Minnie & Friend's has no character in the photo). With PP+, you get a copy of the printed photo package and whatever images they took when you entered on your PP+ card. They will not follow you around and take photos of you with the characters during your meal...you will still need to do that.
When you buy PP+, all the photos you acquire are included. Inside the CD case you receive (with the voucher) has a code on the inside. When you are done with your trip, look at your photos and add borders (not sure about a Merry Christmas border). Then you add the CD to your account. You can opt to have a CD sent or digitally download the photos right to your computer.

Many thanks to all of you! :) I really appreciate your detailed replies. Do you think it would be worth it for the Minnie and Friends? Are pictures taken at all there (by a photographer) or just not at the entrance with Minnie? That is cool the photos are personalize-able. I will look into this and thanks again!

Mona -

Both Tracy/OHBelle and I posted photos with "Merry Christmas" borders in the Superthread (which you mentioned in your post above)! I am guessing you didn't see them! :lmao: Sometimes the Merry Christmas borders don't appear on the PhotoPass site right away, when the holiday season begins, but the Happy Holidays borders are there for most of the season.

But there should definitely be at least one Merry Christmas option sometime during the season, if not more. I've seen several versions through the years, but some I like more than others. I just posted the one I liked, and not the ones I didn't like as much.

Take the time to read through this thread. There is a wealth of information on it: http://www.disboards.com/threads/photopass-superthread.3147673/page-19#post-54248736

Even Minnie isn't in the PhotoPass picture at the Minnie and Friends breakfast - only your party is. There are no photographers in the restaurant itself - any pictures you want with the characters must be taken by your or someone in your group.

Sherry, hug to you my friend. I sincerely apologize for missing that. This steamy heat (more yesterday) is taking its toll! I will go back and reread more carefully, I promise.

Thank you, JustCallMeVee for the link. :)

Lol, I guess I was wishfully thinking on that Winnowill. I also realized this costs $69.95. That well is a ton of money to me so will probably keep in mind for some other time. I knew it cost $$$ just not quite that much.

Keep cool to all and to all a Good Night!

You're not kidding! Every time it seems that the humidity is waning a bit, it bounces right back again! Now we're in the phase of summer where the heat will climb, climb, climb into September. :headache:

^Yesterday felt especially steamy to me :P Today, maybe I was still tired from yesterday, it was more just HOT. Humidity and me especially with my joint issues just don't mix. Yesterday at church a lady was going on about all the rain to come and how heavy it will be, etc. I politely listened and then said to her, the truth that a little rain and cooler weather will feel awesome right about now! She agreed. :) Still was a beautiful Christmas in August (celebrated at church yesterday) day God made :)
