Photo pass plus changing to...

Does it make a difference if I've already ordered my PP+?

We have the voucher and we arrive next week..
Will I get PP+ or the new one?

Interesting development. I was planning to order our PP+ next week but decided to order today just in case there is a price increase. I'm looking forward to updates from DISers on the new program.

Reading this post with interest as well. I pre-ordered PhotoPass+ today, before heading to the boards. I've read so many complaints about PP+ that I've been worried about it, but my DH wants it and I'm hoping for the best.

We plan to be together and use the card--don't trust the Magic Bands with the photos for some reason.

I have also pre ordered it but our trip is not for a good while yet.

I think the problem at the moment is that Disney is testing too many bits and pieces of too many things at once. They need to test the MB's and FP+ and sort out those issues first, sort out the photopass issues they are currently experiencing first, before messing with adding them to the cards. Once they have the platform fully functional, then by all means, start testing the add-ons. But they are trying to add way too many little extras to a system that is still in testing and not fully functional as is. One thing at a time Disney!

I just pre ordered my photopass plus today for our 11/11 - 11/17 trip. I wanted to be sure and have the $149 price in case there was a price increase with the new changes.

Is there any more news or insight into this change? Seems kinda quiet...

I haven't heard anything new. I was in with my TA this past Saturday when the CM was tellin her all this info on "memory maker". CM told her it was gonna roll out next week so I'm assuming the 28th maybe. That's when I told my TA I would be back in to link the memory maker to my bands.

Sorry. Wish I knew more.

Not sure if I should buy PP+ now before a price increase or wait:confused: I know I'll be disappointed if I pre-order PP+ today and then see that there is a separate PP package that you have to get in order to get the Memory Maker ability. What if it's only $20 more and includes Memory Maker and you can't add it on to the original PP+, but have to purchase it as a whole again to get it? I know, confusing lol, but it's all just really speculation I guess. I also don't want to wait and it goes up $50 and it's really just a rename of PP+ with additional features. SIGH :confused3 To buy or not to buy now that is the question, lol!:scratchin Thinking it might go live Nov 4th when the new site is up? Hopefully we'll get more information soon:goodvibes

My PP+ package arrived yesterday. Maybe it's good I didn't know about the change and have to
struggle with those choices. I'm not sure if I would have grabbed the price it's at now or waited to see the new features.

I've pre purchased the Photopass+ this year and I'm not really worried about there being no option to add it enhanced extras. Last year I pre ordered the regular photopass as we always do and a few months later they brought out PP+. There was no problem paying the additional amount and upgrading the product. I cannot see them not allowing it so I wouldn't worry :goodvibes

Thanks!! I feel a lot better!! Think I'll go ahead and buy it now then :-D

FWIW, we used PP+ last year, and we had no problems with it. We did a lot of the character meals where you could buy the picture they took because it was not included in the meal price, and all you had to do was show them the PP+ card, and they gave you the picture, no questions asked. Also, if you rode an attraction that took a picture of you, you just walk up to the kiosk, tell them the number of the picture and hand them your PP+ card. All of our pictures were there, no problems. I know some people had pictures missing from their accounts, but we had no issues with this at all.

Thanks for letting me know. My DH and I used regular Photopass during our last trip (and only bought a few prints, no CD) but were quite impressed. I'm bringing my laptop on my trip, so I'll be able to check my account nightly to make sure our photos are there. We pre-ordered on Monday and the voucher is en route.

Someone who has used the PP+, can you tell me specifically what "select dining locations, select attractions, and other Disney experiences" are included? I know that Tusker house has a photo package for purchase with their character meal, but Akershus it was included. I want to know what the dining, attractions, and experiences are that would make the PP+ more beneficial over just the PP. If we have a couple of meals scheduled like Tusker house where those photos would now be included with PP+, that would be worth it of me.

Chef Mickey's, Hoop De Doo and all of the ride photos (ToT, RnR, EE, Dino, TT, Buzz, and the SMountains, etc) are all included if you purchase PP+. For me the ride photos are worth it because DH loves to buy them and now I won't have to worry that he is upset because the previous ride was better and he did not buy the photo. At $15-20 a pop (depending on the size), plus the Chef Mickey photo, PP+ will definitely be worth it for me.

Subbing to this as I'm interested in this new fangled Memory Maker thingy...I just ordered our FP+ for our upcoming Dec. trip (arriving Nov. 30).

I'm hoping more of the kinks are worked out by then. I would think they would offer the MM as an add on if it doesn't come included when it officially switches over....

Hoping fellow DISers will find out and post when they know more!:grouphug:

I'm wondering how using MBs for PP will affect CD-sharing. We're going with my in-laws (who are staying off property) and several friends (on property, but of course their own reservations) and had planned on all sharing one CD. With the cards, that's totally easy. If the photos are attached to MBs, though, it doesn't seem like sharing would work nearly as well. I hope the cards stick around for a while yet.

When it's all going, when you friend your family in my Disney experience you'll be able to view their photos.

So in essence itll be easier
