Debating whether to get a pre-purchased photo package. I see I can get a 10x pack for $150, a 20x pack for $250, or an unlimited pack for $300.

What is the cost onboard if you do not pre-purchase? TIA!

It's a 15% discount for pre-purchasing. If you think you will want photos, I would pre-purchase. If you are unhappy with the number or quality of the photos, the package is refundable up until the last full day of the cruise.

OK, so the pre-purchased packages might be discounted 15%, but how much are individual digital photos onboard, like if I wanted to get only two instead of 10x or 20x?

8x10 are about $20 and 6x8 about $15. I may be slightly off on those prices.

To be specific, refundable until Shutters closes on the day before debarkation? what time does Shutters close?

So, does anyone know how much it costs to purchase a single digital image onboard?

Thanks, but those prices have to be outdated, as it would be cheaper to buy the unlimited package onboard ($230) instead of pre-purchasing ($300). I looked at the link you provided, but I could not find any reference to Shutters or that pricing sheet. Not sure if it matters, but my pre-purchase prices are for a 7-day Fantasy cruise.

Package prices vary based on length of cruise. The posted image may be from a shorter cruise.

oh I always wondered why the 15 was almost as much as the all inclusive but it must only work out that way on shorter cruises - on longer ones bigger difference.

We did the all inclusive but 10 pictures would have done the job, we had a lot of bad photos where the photographer didn't bother to tell us to fix clothing/exposed bra straps and had people blinking or otherwise awkward expressions. We did have a few good pics and I printed about 8 of them for a collage for my parents. I'm thinking of just doing the 10 images on our Fantasy cruise but hope i don't regret it when people say they get hundreds of good pics with the package. We only had about 20 pics total and many of them were bad.

I provided that image because you asked about the price of a single photo.

Bummer! We came home from our 5 night with 117 pictures, all of which are usable, obviously we prefer some to others, but no bad ones at all.

How many photos have been got from their cruises? Trying to determine if it will be worth it. We're doing a 5 night cruise.

Here is the pricing for the unlimited photo package, if purchased ahead of time:
9-14 night cruise full package is $340
6-8 night cruise $296
5 night cruise $212
2-4 night cruise $195

And by the way in case it wasn't clear, the 10-pack or 20-pack of pictures is not discounted if you purchase ahead of time. Only the unlimited package is.

It really depends.... some people will line up for every single picture while others will decide they don't want to. If you're on the fence, buy the package and check your pics every day at the kiosk - if you're not happy, or don't feel you've had enough, then get it refunded before the last evening.

The first cruise I did not grab a package, just took my camera everywhere. By the end it had become kind of a hassle. Got lots of good pictures, but was just cumbersome to carry everywhere. On the second cruise we got the all inclusive package. Took my camera around allot less, really only when I wanted to explore the ship or for dinner. The family got almost enough pictures taken to drop the price to roughly $1.50 per picture. Enough of them where good that we ended up printing a large chunk of them. Yes we went hunting for opportunities to get pictures taken (with almost every character we saw), but we knew that we wanted to take as much advantage of the photo package as we could. Now we are putting together our third cruise, and yes the unlimited package is planned.

Agreed. I cruised twice and both cruises, went to shutters on the last day hoping to get some nice photos of the family together. All were terrible (bad lighting, members of our party cut off on the side, photos not centered, taken with ugly stuff in the background that could have been easily been avoided by asking us to move a few feet -- e.g., an overflowing trash can on CC) and I left the kiosk without purchasing anything. I had much better pictures from the trip on my iPhone. Strange because we always have great photos from photopass at Disney world. The cruise photographers need to step up their game!

The lines on the last day to talk to a representative at Shutters were so crazy, I am glad I didn't have to wait to cancel a pre-booked package.

We were on a long cruise so I probably had more time than most, but I highly recommend that anyone who either purchases a package or is interested in purchasing one go to the kiosks regularly (like every day) to check on the pictures. For one thing, pictures go missing, and there is a way that you can search pictures directly from the kiosk to retrieve any that might not be there - I found about 8-10 that weren't loaded to my KTTW card. That would not have been fun on the last day. I think this would also help to let you know early on whether you really want to keep that prepaid package or not.
