I used the program mentioned in Di's WDW trip report thread (AndreaMosaic) and made a photo mosaic of our June trip to DLRP!

This is the original photo...

And this is the mosaic...

Click it for a bigger version (which is quite large, I'll warn you!)

It's a very clever little program. :)

Wow Bonnie - that looks absolutely fantastic!!! I'm really impressed!!! I also feel pretty stupid as I always thought someone must have put all the pictures together painstakingly matching up colours and shapes by hand but I see it's a computer that does all the hard work - that makes sense!!! I must give it a go now!!!

Hehe - now that would be time-consuming! Once I'd figured out the basics I just let it run for a few minutes and the mosaic was ready. Not much effort at all. :) You do seem to need quite a lot of photos for it to choose from, but that wasn't really a problem for us as we had over 1,000 from a five-day trip! :rolleyes1

This is a great photo. Thanks for sharing with us. I will go back and try to find where I saved the address and have a go

way to go !!!

Wow Bonnie, that is a great piece of work.
Think I'll try my hand at this also. :)

Bonnie, this is just so lovely!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I too am going to go back and look for the thread with Andrea Mosaic - I think I might attempt a mosaic picture for our Christmas cards this year!

If its too complicated - I'll get teenage son to help [hopefully, :bitelip: ]

Thank you very, very much - its made my Sunday!!

Well, I've attempted 2 so far and the results are nowhere as good as Bonnie's. The instructions are fine and easy to follow but the finished results were pretty much unrecognisable so it seems you've got to be careful in your choice of "matrix" i.e. the original photo you use as your base for the mosaic. I seem to have picked complicated ones with 3 people (or 2 people and a character!!) so I'm going to try again with a picture with one main feature - such as the main mouse!!!

That is SO clever, and what a lovely idea!! :Pinkbounc Nice one Bonnie!! :goodvibes

Did you actually have time to DO anything else other than taking pics :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Since I saw that link oh I have been working all afternoon on mosaicing pictures, only a couple came out OK lol, but decided to show this one since I took it last October in DLRP and since Halloween is coming very soon might as well show it :sunny: .

That looks absolutely fantastic! I downloaded that programme but I haven't really made any mosaics that look any good yet. That one would make a brilliant piece of memorabilia if you printed it out on photo paper and framed it, though!

Over 1000 photos in five days, you say? That sounds like a challenge to me! pirate: *rolls up sleeves*

Had a go at this, but still think I need the practice :teeth:

I think this could be Skoobies for adults :rotfl2:

Awesome photos and great programme. I tried a few without reading the instructions. Lesson learnt - read the instructions! Here they are, maybe they'll be better once I learn how to use the programme!

Pretty good Steve - instantly recognisable which is more than could be said for some of my attempts!! Worth persevering though as I'm thinking they'd make nice personal gifts for people - if and when I master the technique!!!
