Has anyone ever done the photo memory book on the cruise?

If so, is it a pain to customize?

We probably will do limited character photos since the kids just want to do a few of those - are the pages of a sort that you could fill them with non-character photos?

Are there enough photo opportunities (knowing we're not doing many character meets) to make it worth while?

Also, is it really hectic picking up the book on the last day? We're doing express checkout and having a town car meeting us at 8AM.

Thanks for any advice and tips!

We did a photo book on our Alaskan cruise on the Wonder. As long as you don't wait til the last day to customize your photo book, it's easy.
You select the photos so it's up to you whether you put character ones or not in the book.
There are ample opportunities to take pics on the ships, so if you're planning to get a book, I'd take advantage of as many as you can.
The photo book was mailed to us. Got it about 2 weeks after the cruise.

Hope this helps!

We always make our own when we get home, that way we can incorporate our own pictures, excursions etc along with any photos we have purchased.

We made our own on our Fantasy cruise a few weeks ago and I love it! If you wait until the last day, the computers are going to be packed. It started storming when we were at CC so we got back on the ship, showered and went right down to Shutters and we were able to beat the crowds. I wanted to do as a PP said and make my own when I got home, but in order to do that I had to purchase the photos and that's too pricey. Even though the book isn't cheap, it's cheaper than purchasing individual photos or the CD.

Making the book is easy. You just click the pictures you want in each page and it's done. It took us about 30 minutes. If you have a ton of photos it may take longer.

I think the prices sometimes vary, but I could be wrong (I compared the prices for the 4 Day Dream cruise coming up this Monday vs. the 3 Day coming up next Friday and they were the same). For example, (if you pre-purchase before you leave) the prices are:

For 3 Day Dream Cruise on 1/29/16:
All the pictures on CD: $194.95
All the prints: $194.95
All the pictures on CD & all your prints: $269.96
10 Digital Photos: $149.95
Photobook: $149.95

Individual 8x10's on board are $20.95 each.

Keep in mind you save 15% by purchasing before your cruise online on the mycruisephotos website. We did the "All the pictures" on CD for our cruise last September and will probably do the same for the one we're doing next weekend. In our personal experience, they take lots of pictures. Photographers were roaming around during dinner, on the decks during the parties, etc. If you aren't planning on doing any of the character experiences then I might not spend the money but if you're going to take advantage of everything then I certainly think it's well worth the money. Then you don't have to worry about carrying around your own camera.

I'm going on the same cruise!

I'm going on the same cruise!

Oh my goodness!! I literally just booked it on Wednesday! It's my wife's birthday so I'm surprising her with the cruise. We took our first one last September and have been dying to get back on another one. I booked guarantee in an 05A and got a free upgrade to an 04A so we're in 9108. Be on the lookout for us and definitely say hello if you see us!

I absolutely LOVE the memory book. We didn't really know much about it until a few days in, so we didn't necessarily have the pictures to go with the pages, but it really doesn't matter. We didn't get out at CC due to torrential rains the whole day and there is a section for that, but it doesn't matter. We filled the pics in everyday, and my kids would run to the kiosks to see what new pics showed up. They were right by our room on Deck 2 on the Fantasy. It is SO nicely done and looks beautiful. There are 34 pics in it which is plenty. Looking forward to doing it again. We got ours the last morning and just walked right up and got it after breakfast.

so we didn't necessarily have the pictures to go with the pages
That's what I was wondering about. I'd heard that the pages have specific photos tied to them (like you can't put a character photo on a page that's dedicated to the dining rooms). And, if you didn't have a photo, that slot would not be filled.

We are traveling with family and have 3 staterooms in total. Does anyone know if we will have access to all photos from the rooms linked on our reservation to make the book? That would make it a great gift!

If at least one person from the room that buys the book is in it you should but I know on the photo CD or print purchases, each room has to buy the package (however they get to buy it at a discounted rate). I haven't done a book yet so I'll have to let someone else confirm but my "guess" is there would be some sort of charge to have access to their pictures unless you are in them.
