Photo Gallery CD Thread*MAJOR CHANGE ON PP PRICING WITH WDW & DLR. See post #303-

We're leaving WDW today :sad1: but I wanted to report on HP. It was FABULOUS. It was not crowded. There were NO lines to get into HP like was reported last year. Everyone just walked in and out at will--like any normal "land". We didn't have early entry, so we went "left" and did the rest of IofA first (members on a HP crowd report thread reported that in the morning it wasn't crowded either) and then got to HP mid-afternoon. The main ride--Forbidden Journey--was 20 minutes (actually not long enough for us to take all the pictures we wanted of the castle while going through), and the other rides were 5 minutes. My children and I are all big HP fans, and we were not disappointed. The whole "world" was created extremely well--and the butterbeers are delicious! We went back for part of the day on 2 other days, and FJ was never more than 20 minutes (except the time it broke down while we were in line :sad1:) and Hogmeade is busy but not really crowded. It's totally manageable. If you ever get a chance to go I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I'll surprise DD12 with a visit to HP. We were just talking about it the other day and she said she figures we aren't going since it'll be so crowded.

Hope you had a wonderful trip! We leave in 34 days! :cool1:

Oh, and we didn't make it to DLR on Wed. DD stayed home from school with a cold. Hope to go sometime in the next week-I'll report back on the Gallery CD.

Hi-went to DLR today ( I know, crazy to go on a holiday!). I checked in at the PP store and the cashier didn't know anything about them (I've talked to her before, she doesn't normally work in the PP store) but the CM standing next to her was showing another guest the Gallery CD and explaining about the coupon etc.

So, they now have The Gallery CD back in the store.
I didn't look at it since the line to talk to a PP CM was really long but it is still $59.95 and still has the coupon for the free online PP CD. I don't know what new pix are on it-if any. I will be buying one before our trip to WDW in about a month so if no one reports on it before then, I will.

Woot that is good to know. I just read through this whole thread and quite a few others as we are leaving in 10 days for our first trip to the SoCal theme parks and I didn't understand how the photopass worked.

Now I understand and its back in stock so hopefully I can grab one when we get to DLR!

Thankyou so much to Hydroguy, Dizneydaz and all the other regulars on these boards for all these hints and tips. You have guaranteed my 3 sons will have the best time ever on their first US trip. Disney should make you honorary CM's for life with free AP's.

Just got back and they are in stock again. They are available both at the the photo shop at the end of main street in DL and at the photo pass kioske at the condor flats gift shop across from Soarin over CA.

:thumbsup2 Really good to know. Thank you!

Yep, I'll be picking up one real soon for myself and also buying one for another disboarder and bringing it to her at POP in WDW (long story)

So glad they came back in. Wonder if there are any different photos than the last one? I guess I'll find out soon.;)

so let me ask again...OK..the Photo CD is $59.00..is the price for PhotoPass on the site without using the free code $79.00? So, I already bought the CD last trip, but is it worth it to buy it again just for the code?

YAY!!!:yay: Thank you for the update!! Going to make sure to get one tomorrow!!

I have been trying to understand how to do this. We've never purchased the whole photopass cd before just an individual pic or two.

So I buy the gallery photopass cd from the photo store on main street. It should have a coupon code in it that I can use when I get home to order the photopass cd of our personal photos taken by DL photographers? Right so far?

Now what if I want to do a photopass share with the other families that are traveling with us? How does that work when we get home? Can we all log onto the same photopass and edit from our own homes and then order 1 cd that we take to Walgreens to get our respective photos printed??

Any advice on how to do this with multiple families?

You can have several photocards on your account. Once you are home, you will need add each card to your account. Once they are added you can see and edit the pics. They let you zoom in etc and add fun disney boarders etc. So if each family wants to go in and edit their own pics you will need to make sure each family has the email address the account is set up with and password. Once everyone is done, you can order the CD using the voucher that comes in the Photo Gallery CD. Once you have the CD, you can share it with the other family and print as many pics as you want.

And, if you do it right, you will have 60 days from the date the first photo is taken until you have to order. For example-first photo taken at DLR on Nov. 1st. Those first photos must be uploaded by Nov. 31st. Then you have until Dec. 30th to order your CD. A total of 60 days.

Make sure that all of your family members upload only into your account. If they upload into their own account you won't be able to add them into yours. Everyone needs to upload into your account, and yours alone.

Once you are ready to order your CD you just enter the coupon code from the Gallery CD into where it says Promo Code. The total will then revise to show zero balance.

Have fun

9 days until WDW!:goodvibes

OOOOOO, several photo pass cards! I love it! So if we split up for a bit we won't have to worry about who has the photopass card! Good advice! thanks for explaining.

They generally take really good photos, too. If you look in my Disneyland folder on FB, the first section of picts are the PP ones. Just remember a couple of things if you have other groups in your travel party:
  • Everybody uploads to one account. This is the most important part!
  • Take digital picts of the backs of your PP cards - in case you lose them
  • If you get a chance, go by one of the PP stores before you leave on your last day (also a good time to redeem those Disney Visa M&G vouchers - or save them if your next trip will be before their expiration) and make sure all your pictures are on the cards. You can even have them combine multiple cards onto one there.
  • Take a LOT of pictures. Just because you took a picture in front of the castle yesterday doesn't mean that you won't get a better one today. Different photographers do different poses, even at the same location. I think what's available may also vary depending on the time of day.
  • Be sure to ask for 'Magic' shots. If there's a PP near the Haunted Mansion, you may be able to get the hitchhiking ghosts.
  • Take your regular camera, too. There are only photographers in certain places.
  • If anyone does Jedi Training Academy, be sure to get the photos added to the card at the Kodak shop

Have fun!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner-

The CD online is $59.95, so it's the same price. However, the coupon code inc. free shipping (at least the old one did)

Is it worth buying it again?-depends. Do you have the previous version? This one may have different photos. Do you have an AP? You'll get a discount on the one you buy with the store coupon but not online.

If you don't have an AP and don't care about getting the new photos then what you would save is the shipping (about $2.95).

If you have an AP you can save up to $12 on the CD and free shipping. A $15 savings.

Personally I have bought 3 for previous orders and plan on buying another one in the next few days for our upcoming WDW/DLR trips. ;)

I will report back after I buy the new one as to what new pix there may be in them. Also if the free shipping is still inc.

i wish i found this thread earlier. Im leaving for wdw in a week and i prepurchased the cd. Although, im still confused about how this works.

This will only work on the Disneyland pricing. So if you were going to DLR after your trip to WDW then it would work for you. (That's what I do-I have AP to DLR).

Basically when you buy the PP Gallery CD in the store it inc. a coupon for a few DLR PP CD online (a $59.95 value-same price as the Gallery CD). So it's like getting the Gallery CD for free. But it doesn't work on the WDW pricing (to my knowledge)

If you are going to DLR after WDW you could still buy the CD at DLR and then ask for a refund on your WDW pre-purchase.
