Photo Editing software?

I just purchased my first digital camera and now I'm looking for a program to edit the pictures, anyone have any good ones they use? There are just so many to choose from/

I use Paint Shop Pro 8, very easy to use and one of the cheaper ones on the market if I've been correctly informed. You can do some great stuff with it including picture tubes which are fantastic!

I want to say my dh uses Adobe Photoshop Elements (or something to that effect)

I only try to edit if it is an emergency!!
