The rules state a picture must be taken at a Disney Park, since Disney Cruise Line is technically not a park, would pictures taken on either the Magic or Wonder, or on Castaway Cay be eligible for entry?

I apologize if this has been asked and answered previously. I may not have had the correct keywords to do a search.

Can I ask something too? For example, this weeks DTD subject - does that include the Disney Village at DLRP? Not that it matters as Ive already entered, but I was curious to know whether this is a Disney WORLD contest rather than a "DISNEY" contest! Hope that makes sense!

Just wondered how flexible the categories were really!

Allie

PS - just to say thanks again for all the hard work that goes into running it!

Without speaking for andromedaslove, I would guess that the rules are flexible to the point of including as many disers as possible while staying within the weeks given theme.

In other words I would enter the photo in question with an explanation(description) and if anyone objects andromedaslove would make a judgment.

I know I have entered Disneyland Photos, and I have seen some that could have been taken at a Disney store. The contest really is a friendly one.

Remembering back to when the first posts about having the contest came about I do remember it being that the pictures could be from anything in "The Disney World", not just "DisneyWorld". So Downtown Disney in Orlando, California, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong (if they have a DTD Disney there) are good to go.

The contest pictures also extend to the Disney Cruise Line as it is part of "The Disney World". However, I believe that is where it ends. I don't believe any pics from a local Disney Store or the World of Disney in NYC are included and certainly no pictues taken of something that is Disney but located in your home.

So keeping it to the 5 Worlds/Lands and their included parks (MK (at all 5), MGM, DTD (MCO and CAL), Epcot, AK, DisneySea Tokyo , Disney Studios Paris, and Disney Village Paris, I belive is what they are), ANY hotel on Disney property in any of the 5 Resort area's and the 2 Cruise ships (soon to be more, but thats a few years away) is good to go from my understanding.

I would also think that Disney's Hilton Head Resort would be included as it is an Official Disney Resort, if that is the case then The World of Disney in NYC would be included too as it also is an official Disney property where as the local Disney Store that might be in your local mall is not owned by Disney.

Dana can correct me if I'm wrong.

Someone submitted a photo for the Animals contest that was from HHI, and it was put up for votes. So it would seem that photos taken at the resorts at Hilton Head and Vero Beach are included in the contest.

Actually, I asked Andromedaslove about this a few weeks ago, and she said that it depends on the theme for that week. I hope I'm not misrepresenting what she said, but for example, IIRC the one I asked about was Pooh and the description for that week said something along the lines of "anything related to Pooh." So you could have entered a picture of your child at home in a Tigger costume. In other words, as I understand it, a broader description of the week's topic trumps the more restrictive language in the "official rules."

Fitzperry actually has it right!! It truly depends on the subject of that weeks contest. For others that say in ANY Disney park, it just means ANY Disney property. Including Castaway Cay, HHI, and Vero Beach. Some however are VERY park specific, like FrontierLand, TomorrowLand, AdventureLand, Animal Kingdom, etc... I hope this helps everyone understand.

how about a picture of elephant pooh....:confused3 :lmao:

hmmm would it make the cut :scratchin ? and who could prove it's not from ak?:rotfl2:

Are you kidding? This is the internet. First someone will argue that the variety of grass in your photo is not found in central Florida. Then another poster who claims inside knowledge of the dietary habits of AK's elephants will insist that the "pooh" in question came from an animal with an entirely different diet. At which point "a former cast member" will appear claiming to have proof that all the elephants in AK are animatronics and their "pooh" made of fiberglass. All of which might just be enough to push poor Andromedaslove to resign as our contest guru. Now you don't want to be responsible for that do you? :lmao:

FWIW, we were told that (in case there was any doubt), the "termite mounds" on the KS ride at AK are, indeed, fake. No word on the various piles of dung.

Next thing you know, they'll be telling me that those weren't real poachers we were chasing!

Jealous of his brother's fame and fortune, Wayne Pooh decided to take matters into his own hands with a box of Nice N Easy hair dye and a sewing machine
