Photo Board Assignment, Fall Scavenger Hunt, Sept-Nov, 2011

Ok, I'm finally joining in! I had the day off yesterday for some dr appts and I took my camera, figuring I'd head to our local park and get some nice leaf shots, but our leaves don't look all that great this year. Most of the trees that are accessible are either still green, or their leaves just went straight to dead, no nice colors. Of course, I'll see a beautiful tree all by itself while I'm driving by and can't stop!:rolleyes1

Anyway, when I got out my Halloween decorations, I found this guy for a trifecta - Halloween, Frankenstein and Candy Corn:

So, I've been googling about Favourite Fall Foods....and found the Food Network list! Might have to see how many of these I can cook up.

This particular one on the list is the rice congee, the equivalent comfort food for the soul for Asians the way chicken soup is for the caucasian...http://www.foodnetwork.com/in-season-now/favorite-fall-foods/pictures/page-5.html

I served mine with (home made) salted duck's eggs.

I also made some Oatmeal with pumpkin puree, maple syrup and Cinnamon.

These look great - although I have never tried a duck egg! (I was trying to view the pics on my iPhone this morning and it just didn't do them justice!)

I will throw a couple in here just for fun. I mean, hey, Amy even posted on this one. Can't let her show me up. :)

Favorite Fall foods: Cranberries!

Finally got the hang of shooting those cranberry bogs, eh Andy? :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

I was up in NH yesterday and passed a bunch of pumpkin patches and foliage scenes and guess what? Dead batteries. :headache: Guess that's what I get for leaving my camera bag out in the cold car! (Fortunately had just enough power to squeeze out a few baseball shots.)

Haha. Yeah, it's all we got down here. Cranberries, cranberries and more cranberries (as you know all too well). :lmao:

I always keep a power inverter in the car that I can plug my battery charger into (which is always in my bag). That way, when I forget to charge the battery (as I seem to do more and more often as the years go on) I can plug it in for about 15 minutes or so and get some juice into it to get a few more shots. :)

:wave:Hi Andy! Good to see you again!

We'll be heading to WDW in a few weeks, and I hear there's a cranberry bog as part of the Food & Wine Festival. I'll try to get a shot just for you!;)

Haha! I am getting to be known as the cranberry guy here. Hmmm... don't know if I like that. ;) It's all good. In the fall, I can't drive anywhere without seeing cranberries up here. They offer up so many opportunities for photos that it is hard to pass them up.

Anyways, it is GREAT to see you here Amy! It has been a long time! :cool1:

Just clowning around with my iPhone at Party City while the kids shopped for Halloween stuff, but it's a spider and a web :thumbsup2
