Photo Assignment July '07: Water

I'm just not getting overly creative this month. Trying to reach down deep and get those creative juices flowing, but I'm just not "seeing" the pics right now. Here is one from tonight that I thought was "ok".

same with me Andy. every time i go some place to take photos there isn't any water!( we are in semi drought conditions which could explain it ) guess i need to go to lake erie before that dries up as well

My youngest daughter on a slip n slide last weekend.

This was taken with my new D40, still learning, but I thought this pic was absolutely precious, although I am a little biased being her father......

That is precious. She is a beautiful girl - and the joy on her face is enough to make anyone smile.

calm a bridge phobics fears...can you just not see the other side due to the angle or does it go in a tunnel? however the shot is great even if i get the shakes just looking at it

my father lived in Erie and when we visited him in the nursing home he liked to go for a ride to presque isle(but never wanted to stop ) they have tons of birds there if you like that and the zoo in erie is nice as well( smallish)

Oh, thanks for the link, Jann! That IS the ship someone told me about. Now I just have to hope DH can get the whole day off Friday so we can check it out before picking up DS; DH is the one who's really into ships, esp. sailboats. And the Niagara is a BIG sailboat!

LOL jann1033, it's just the angle of the picture... no tunnel. I too am not a big fan of bridges, but I have loved this one since I was a kid. I just don't cross it.

Here's one from last week, Caladesi Island on the gulf coast of Florida, just north of Clearwater:

D50, Sigma 10-20mm lens, no polarizer. Lots of seaweed in the water, unfortunately.

A great day in the water

I've been playing with my camera and trying to get some good shots of water. I took these on the continuous sports mode.

You always take for granted the area that you live... I grew up 20 minutes from Plymouth, MA and now currently live about 20 minutes from Concord, MA. Quick history,,, it was in Concord that the Revolutionary War "Started" with "The Shot Heard Around The World". The British went to destory some amo the colonists had stored in Concord and the colonists stoped them. It all started at this bridge, The North Bridge, in Concord, MA. Not the best time of day to get pics, but I liked the little river running there and the rain drops on the river too. Can't wait for the fall. This area is STUNNING with the autumn leaves.

This pic was taken while I was standing on the bridge. Not exactly sure what it is, but I'm sure it has something to do with U.S. History. I liked the reflection on the river.
