Summer is upon us. Water is everywhere. Lets photograph it. Pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, quaries, rain, puddles, baths, waterfalls, sprinklers, fountains and any other places or things that have water.

Lots of different options depending on your subject. Good time to play around with shutter speeds to get different effects from moving water. Those with dSLR's can try out a polarizing filter for cutting down on glare.

See how creative you can get. Maybe try something a little different. Get out there with your camera, take some pictures and have LOTS of fun!

Here's some water in a different manner. Drops on a yellow flower, selective coloring on the drops.

I believe I used macro for #s 2 and 3 and super macro for # 4 in manual mode. It's the first time I've had (moderate) success using these features.

And for those of you who've followed my saga, it's still a work in progress but I think it's finally coming together for me. I'm feeling much more comfortable using the varied features of my camera - I don't think I used auto even once. :thumbsup2 We'll see how this week goes with the fireworks.

Great topic! It is really making me think to come up with something unusual and new (for me). Glad we have a month for this. ;)

For those who already posted, can you edit to add what lens you were using and the EXIF info? I like to see that to help with my own "experiments" in shooting.

Oh boy - I get to be the first one to post this picture! (I'm sure lots of folks on this board have the same shot.) I took it on our trip last month:

Just a friendly reminder to everyone: This is an inspiration thread and not a show off thread. It is meant for you to go out in the month of July 2007 and take some pictures. Please do not post pictures not taken this month.

Thank you all,

Kevin

I noticed nobody else had people in their pics- but I thought these were cool water pics. Taken at a birthday party last week- my husband and nephew on a waterslide

I've been lurking this board for a while and thought I should finally contribute something. This is my niece playing in Lake Erie over the 4th of July. I shot with my Nikon d50 using a telephoto lens (70-300). I didn't record my shutter speed although I believe it was fairly high (1000 or higher) and my f-stop was lower (lower than 7.1). I've really enjoyed the photos shared here and look forward to sharing more of my own. :camera:
